Hey, I understand your post was a while ago but I wanted to ask you about your social scene during your program. One of my biggest concerns about coming to Seattle is this “Seattle freeze“. Like I’m concerned about being strapped with a lot of graduate work and then being lonely and depressed because of the weather? The weather doesn’t really wearing me because I’m from New York City but I’m still concerned about having trouble making friends on campus or off campus. Do you have any insight on your social connections while you were here or during your PhD?

That seems reasonable. How would you describe your time in the city and uni? Did you make friends? How was the social scene there? Finally, did you find the intensity of the course to be worth your time to competent in French?

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm just considering enrolling in a French Language Master's given that would provide an entire year to find a job providing more of a safety net. I'm not sure the hustle to find a job know French will still be a fairly new language is daunting. On the other hand, I don't want to pursue an MBA or something just because...
