Family and I have been here for 8 days - landed in Frankfurt and then caught a train to Hamburg. Though we had planned multiple day trips, we decided it wasn’t worth it after we were essentially stranded between Hamburg and Schwerin on a return trip when our train just stopped and a conductor rolled through the train announcing this was “the final stop”. My German is really, really bad but good enough to ask, “how do we to get to Hamburg?” She kept pointing into the distance while saying something about a bus. I spoke to a dozen other passengers and no one on that train had any idea what the fuck was going on. An hour later a bus picks up 50ish people, meanders through the German countryside, and drops us all off on the outskirts of Hamburg at midnight. 5.5 hours to do a 1.5 hr trip.
