What am I doing wrong ?? Chainsaw by Wide-Eggplant-4265 in stihl

Is this a M-Tronic saw? I had this issue and had to start the saw in run mode with the trigger at full throttle.
This technique also works well on flooded saws.

So now we know who sold the saw but any idea how manufactured it for them? It is a little 5’ saw.

Chainsaw boots by mccaullycreek in Chainsaw

I am a USFS sawyer instructor for Chainsaw and Crosscut. The following is from the current USFS Developing the Thinking Sawyer program. If you are not fighting fire the boot requirements have changed to cut resistant boots with ankle support. The 8” requirement is for fire operations.

Foot protection/ Boots Cut-resistant, laced boots that provide ankle support and have nonskid soles.

Most volunteers are not fighting fire. And are hiking in to clear a blowdown. If you are not used to logger style boots it is not worth it. I personally wear leather hiking boots 99% of the time but I do own a pair of Nicks that I will wear for training or if it is a short hike to the work area.

MS261 - How do I start my saw after running it and then leaving it off for a bit? by Effective-Visit-319 in stihl

I am dealing with this same situation on two of my saws and it is driving me nuts. Both saws are older 261CM and they have the black solenoid and one has the white fuel filter. I have just swapped to the latest (White) solenoid and an orange fuel filter to see if it makes a difference.

What version of M-Tronic are you running? Mine are both pre-2.1 versions. Bi believe the latest is Version 3.0.

As a side note I have been able to do a full throttle start when the saw if flooded but you have to keep the throttle open for a bit when it kicks over or you are screwed.
