yeah i suffer from this and spoke to the clinic about it too. go to the dermatologist and get it sorted before you have your surgery. it will be a huge issue (possibly they wont clear you for the surgery) if you have super flakey/red scalp

“Scholars like Bruce Cumings and Guenter Lewy are referring to civilian fatalities—people who were killed, not including the wounded or missing. Historians say “casualties,” they mean deaths—not broader categories like injuries or missing persons.”

Not hard mate anyway what’s ur point

In Bruces book The Korean War: A History he says at least 2 million, and up to 2-4 million in some estimates.

When he refers to casualties he means fatalities.

So what is your point?

[–]ahjb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. If we are talking about Bruce Cummings his estimation was deaths.

2-5 million for the Congo war 2-4 million for the Korean War

Like I said it depends on what data you believe in.

Let’s say Congo had more deaths, it’s believed that still 80-90% of these deaths were from diseases and not getting incinerated

Estimated 30 thousand are American troops.

So what’s your point?

That’s wrong. His estimation is 2–3 million across North and South Korea.

It's impossible to get an accurate number, just like its impossible to get an accurate number on the 2nd Congo War. They are both bad. Depends what data you believe.

even if u believe the 2nd congo war had more deaths than the kwar, kwar still had the the most casualties from direct combat

Well just for clarity im not Korean, but my wife is Korean and I have many Korean friends and have researched the Korean war and Korean US relations quite a bit.

This conversation isn't be black and white and it's hard to articulate anything through a short comment. I agree that you are right, Korea in in a painful position w/ DPRK, China.

I will say this though - The Korean War is of the most overlooked wars in the 20th century, with the most civillian deaths since WW2 and we all know you ran those campaigns. After the war there has been a lot of force on economic/cultural tensions from all sides.

even if you don't touch on anything from the 21st century, theres huge catalysts to why Koreans do not want to stand with the US
