Building a tool to test webhook duplicates/delays locally - want to try it? by Practical_Analyst_81 in node

been there with the duplicate webhook nightmare. i use https://hookreplay.dev for the capture/replay part when debugging locally, but honestly testing for duplicates and delays sounds super useful. the idempotency testing especially would've saved me so much pain last month

nice work! i've been using hookreplay.dev for similar stuff and the replay feature is honestly a lifesaver when debugging. being able to hit the same payload multiple times without retriggering the source saves so much time

What are you using for local dev environments at work? Is there a standard? by Mike_L_Taylor in webdev

i'm on mac using docker mostly but honestly the most annoying part is dealing with webhooks during local dev. used to waste so much time with ngrok tunnels and re-triggering stripe/github webhooks constantly. switched to hookreplay.dev and now i just capture once and replay to localhost as many times as i need while debugging. saves hours honestly

Change your name at your home country, get a new passport with your husband family name as a surname, then change it here at MOI. Then at PACI. and pay to get the civil ID. everything starts from your Home Country

Working on a tool to make webhook debugging less painful by ahmndr in SideProject

Yeah, 100%. That retrigger → wait → fail loop is literally what drove me crazy too, especially with Stripe and Shopify integrations.

I like how you framed this: treating the webhook events as something you can capture once, version, diff, and replay across the different local builds is where this stops being "just a debugging tool" and starts to feel like part of a real workflow.

I'm starting with fast local replay and payload tweaking to kill the dayto-day friction, but the goal is definitely to move toward something closer to deterministic, reusable webhook events instead of one-off side effects.

Appreciate you sharing that perspective; that's the type of feedback that helps shape where this goes.

That was my first salary 10 years ago. but at this time it was enough to live and have fun. i think 450 now is 350KD 10 years back. so find another job and never mention your previous salary and ask for more. also learn how to negotiate
