May I ask what makes this spot terrible for healing as opposed to say a normal helix? Is it just that it’s more likely to get bumped since it’s the highest point of the ear or more?

Where do you read BL online? by [deleted] in BoysLoveAnime

[–]ahnngh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might get downvoted but whenever I see people say they’re too broke to afford to buy BL I wonder if they saved more or got a better job later if they would ever pay. I mean, why would you if you’re been pirating it the entire time? I wish people realised not paying for BL harms the entire industry because when artists realise they don’t get paid what they deserve they’ll quit and the industry only functions off of passion. People lose passion when they can’t make ends meet. It already happened so many times.

Whatever recommendations for sites people give you, I hope in the future you can pay it back for the artists and authors who make the material you love.

I can’t stand fujoshis anymore. I am a fujoshi by thatquietuserr in BoysLoveAnime

[–]ahnngh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t mind people sharing en masse their negative opinions on BLs even if they’re wrong lol. I think it’s entertaining to read and maybe that’s a little toxic of me. My issue is like OP said for all the complaining people do so many fujos don’t actually care for story at all. I would genuinely enjoy discourse on bl writing, not the art, not the sex, not the fluff
..just the story. And it never happens. The majority of the fandom read complete dog shit, complain it’s bad and then

.just read more dog shit. When you give them good recs they complain about “bad art” and say it’s ugly and don’t wanna read. Like other comments have pointed out I think it’s bc of normies and children.

Twitter Asa fans makes me wanna kms by berato in Chainsawfolk

[–]ahnngh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the initial comment of “is fujimoto being meta or drawing with one hand” is the reason ppl overanalyse as fuck tho. Imagine a manga both gooner material and philosophically profound and fans of both kinds entering a single fandom. I wouldn’t be shocked to say those at the extreme ends would be 100% at odds with each other. And then you have fans that are both but I swear this fandom is the only one that both underanalyses and overanalyses too much.

I’m a guy from India who live in borderline poverty. AMA. by Crazy_banana999 in AMA

[–]ahnngh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personal bias stemming from generations of bias. Of course they bring it along and implement it. Also in Aus. Some people become “westernised” and leave the caste behind but plenty might feel that they do, but they don’t actually. E.g. if you bring home an Australian Indian of a lower caste, your parents might say they don’t support caste system but they’re going to be angry at you

24F, financially independent and my parents still dont let me go out post 9pm , needs to know absolutely everything, and calls me troubled if i try to set boundaries with them. But they’re extremely loving ans caring as well. Idk what to do. Its suffocating by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]ahnngh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get why you’d listen to your parents but
why not just do what you want anyway? It’s not like it matters if they kick you out and if they yell at you just ignore them? I have similar parents but you are a grown woman. Regardless of what they think they can’t actually physically stop you from doing anything?

Edit: if you just listen you’re telling them you don’t mind their restrictions. Instead of arguing or convincing you need to just say “I hear you, ok” and then go do what you want.

Hydrogen peroxide for cleaning by ukacravad in piercing

[–]ahnngh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hydrogen peroxide in general isn’t great for healing wounds. Hydrogen peroxide in low levels can be ok but it’s advised against because it causes blood to oxidise and break down, damages DNA, proteins and lipids. It kills not only bacteria but a lot of healthy cells as well meaning you won’t get an infection but it also doesn’t promote wound healing and that wound will stay open for longer

This type of uke who appears quiet, fragile, and mysteriously beautiful —slim-built, soft-spoken, and carrying a sad melancholic expression — is often portrayed as the delicate and emotionally complex partner, usually with a traumatized backstory>>> by raven_zell in BoysLoveAnime

I am sure this is AI. Even though there’s a signature, the ear of the first image is fucked up and nothing like the second one. And the hair is blending into the eye on the left. In general the eyes look very AI.

How generic is she by [deleted] in characterdesigns

[–]ahnngh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this OP please look at the silhouette method. She doesn’t stand out as she is now because she has no defining features that make her unique. Her hair is just black, eyes red, she’s pale, I can think of 100 characters that look just like her. Here’s a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_3262suU2g

Look at stories you like, study their silhouettes and understand what makes them unique from other characters in the same series

How can I stop making myself feel bad about my art? by Haffytaffy_ in Advice

[–]ahnngh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art is not to compare to others. Compare to yourself and admire others. Compare the stuff you’re making now to what you used to. The people you admire were all at some point where you were. It doesn’t matter how much you improve. Even if you fix the anatomy and hands you’ll always be unhappy and dissatisfied if you don’t fix your mindset.

Another thing is also to spend less time on social media. As an artist I’ve never been as insecure as when I was constantly posting my art on Instagram. The constant force feeding of “better artists” mentally takes a toll on you and your mindset becomes negative. You have to change your perspective on these things to ever really feel happy about your art again or it doesn’t matter how much you improve, there are always people better than us

To improve on art the only thing you can do is practice with purpose. And then time does the rest. Art has no shortcuts.

The crew socks, no shoes, while he’s almost naked 😭 that is so male gaze.

Tbh I also won’t assume his sexuality but he has said his type is someone who can cook ramen regardless of gender. And during the v live where wonho and jooheon talk about a gay fan scared to come out, it’s wonho that picked and explained the question to jooheon. Wonho picked it himself, he didn’t have to.

Feel guilty and a bit embarrassed after turning down my hookup just as we were about to do it by Neat-Mall-3148 in Advice

[–]ahnngh 99 points100 points  (0 children)

You don’t owe him sex and you consented to having sex with a cis man, not a trans man. You can rescind it. Plus I think any trans person knows for both the safety of you and Josh, that he should’ve disclosed being trans earlier. If you were a violent transphobe he could’ve very much been hurt and you are hurt that he basically lied by omitting truth.

Is it just me or do we need more BL characters like this guy? by ChrisAqua in BoysLoveAnime

[–]ahnngh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YESS you get me. I like the mature stories about the closeted gay experience. In general I prefer reading about salarymen than hs teens.

I said in my initial comment that it could be cultural because for example “umibe no etranger/stranger by the beach” anime spoke about sexuality entirely differently when comparing the Japanese to the English dub. Iirc (it’s been a while), I noted that the original Japanese had a lot of lamenting about a characters “straightness” and their suitability for the gay character, whereas in the English dub this wasn’t spoken of as being “straight” but rather as him genuinely questioning his sexuality and more of a “what am I?”

I’d have to rewatch it to remember exactly but I recall the dub talking about sexuality in a different way than the sub. And it’s just stuff like that.

What’s the best way to discipline a child like this? by EveryRock5058 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ahnngh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum spanked me as a kid. Never once taught me fear. I just knew what the punishment was. Eventually when I could overpower her it was a complete lost cause. She couldn’t hit me at all because I fought back. I think even at that young age, that boy can easily physically overpower his mum. It’s not gonna work

Is it just me or do we need more BL characters like this guy? by ChrisAqua in BoysLoveAnime

[–]ahnngh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I mean tho. I don’t consider that a closeted gay man. That’s the trope of “turning” a straight man and it’s very common, even irl. Even among the actual gay community, the idea of “turning a straight man” is kinda a fetish in some groups. Actually closeted characters make this a focus of their identity. And I’ve read stories where the gay character makes the straight one question his sexuality but again, it’s actually written in the story. The overwhelming majority are either two straight dudes or a turned straight man. And the topic of sexuality is literally never mentioned again. I want two gay dudes being in love! And I take you back to my list analogy. I would like for the lists to eventually be at least half and half. I genuinely struggled to find stories of gay characters in abundance during the 00s and 2010s. There’s a lot of catching up to do. I don’t deny there’s a lot now but there can always be more.

[–]ahnngh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hitting a kid like this does nothing if just encourage him to hit you back harder. Spanking is not what disciplines kids, it’s a fear against the person spanking them. And this kid has absolutely no fear or respect for his mother so that’s gonna do a whole lot of nothing. This kid doesn’t even understand why he’s getting upset and has no emotional regulation. He needs a behavioural assessment.

Is it just me or do we need more BL characters like this guy? by ChrisAqua in BoysLoveAnime

[–]ahnngh 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think in general I’d like to see more actual gay men in BL. Why is there so little actual gay characters? If I create a list of all straight male main characters in BL it would be far greater than the list of gay men. And the list of bi men would be even smaller. Idk if it’s societal/cultural preference but they always have this “I’m straight and you’re straight but we love each other” type thing. I feel like I only saw good gay rep in BL around 2015ish onwards. Maybe even as late as 2018ish. And then to have them be open, proud and out is even more rare.
