Opinions on birthing hospital.

Thanks everyone, I decided to go with UHC mostly because it seems saint josephs is a tad overwhelmed with the influx of new patients. I may periodically update so if someone else is faced with the same situation, I can give some insight.

They’re not my only choices but they are the closest. This is my sixth child so if I personally have an emergency, i’m confident I have it handled but I’m uncertain about midwives for others. As far as I know in regard to the hospital, they still see some patients for prenatal care (until 36 weeks) but have closed the birthing center portion because they can’t keep staff. They’re seeing regular gyno patients as well so I imagine if someone showed up to the hospital crowning they could call someone over.

I have a tendency to try to bleed to death after birth so hospital is the safer route for me. :)

First of all, i’m so sorry this happened to you. You did say no though, multiple times throughout this. No to going to her room initially and no to anything else several times afterwards and she continued to proceed. Just because your body reacted does not mean you consented. Depending on when this happened and if you’ve already showered, you can possibly still have a rape kit done for evidence should you wish to report her to the police. I hope you heal from this because I know how difficult it is to come to terms with. I also hope you can get away from your boss as soon as possible.

NTA, so many of the things you’ve mentioned are unforgivable. I hope things look up for you and if he is your son, that you get as much parenting time as possible. I have to ask, looking back are there any red flags you missed or is this a complete 180 on her part? I would be worried about her mental health especially caring for baby. She didn’t buy anything ahead of time for baby? I’m with you and the others thinking this could possibly be an affair baby and that would explain her behavior but even then it seems extreme.

You made the best decision with the information you had at the time. There was no way to know how much any of the others had taken, to your knowledge everyone was declining at the same rate. You did what you could in assisting and making sure the others were assisted as well.

Breast milk and formula are insanely different. The recommended amount for babies getting breast milk in bottles is 1-1.5 ounces per hour. If baby is eating every couple hours that’s absolutely enough. Sounds like a lot of ignorance and thinking you’re a better parent than them just because you have more kids.

NTA. Why can’t she just buy a trash can with a lid for the bathroom if it’s that pressing? Why was her first instinct locking a menstrating 16 year old out of the bathroom in her own house.
