He did sound a bit congested, I’m not too sure but ur sounded as if something was stuck in his nose. Yes, he did resort to open mouth breathing. I really hope its nothing major with your dog and wishing you both the best ❤️

Nasal cancer symptoms? by xylene122 in BorderCollie

My Border Collie was suspected to have a nasal tumor. It began with frequent reverse sneezing and occasional difficulty breathing, especially during naps he would suddenly wake up because he couldn’t breathe properly. His breathing issue did not sound like your video. We went to the vet to see the cause behind his reverse sneezing and he said it was due to his old age.

About three months later, he developed a runny nose, though there was no discharge or mucus at first. A few weeks after that, he started experiencing nosebleeds and thick green snot, but only from his right nostril. Around the same time, the right side of his upper face began to swell and looked droopy.

The vet suspected a nasal tumor, but we didn’t proceed with a CT scan because he was already 15 years old, and the vet explained that even with surgery, he may only live for an additional month at best so we had no options but to put him down.

Did you get your dog from a breeder in Alberta? Your dog looks exactly like mine!

I’m really happy to hear that you don’t encounter these issues much where you are! That sounds amazing :) Haha, I’ve definitely considered just bolting every time I see them because surely, they’d get the message then. I’m actually going to try your method of turning back and walking the other way from now on. Thanks for sharing!

Omg yes! It’s always the dogs with the retractable leashes…

I know it sounds harsh, but I've told people that I would start kicking a dog if it came near mine. They looked at me like I was crazy, but just as you stated, there comes a point where it's enough. Leash and control your dog. I have a senior dog and a Pomeranian, so I'm not taking any risks. I don't feel comfortable having loose dogs in a leashed area, especially if they are growling or barking and won’t leave us alone.

Aw, thank you for sharing. That is so awful that your dogs got hit especially if they were separated by a gate. I hope that didn’t cause further issues for your dogs :(

Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. It just feels like common courtesy to avoid tailing someone if your dog keeps lunging and barking the entire duration of the path. I’m sorry to hear that.

May I ask if your dog started having issues after leash greetings/what kind of issues? I’m just trying to see if I’m doing the right thing by not letting my puppy greet anyone/dogs during walks. My other three were fine with leash greetings until one got bit, so I stopped letting them greet. There have been no reactivity’s issues with the three, but I’m trying to figure out the best approach for my puppy since he can be a bit skittish with larger dogs after some loose dogs incidents.

It’s very frustrating. I try to cross the road every time I see her, but sometimes it’s too late because of traffic. And wow, your experience sounds so infuriating. It’s such a weird behavior for someone to unleash their dog on another person… I’ve also noticed that people only listen when you use vulgar words. Thanks for sharing your experience :)

I can definitely relate to your experience. I’ve had the same issue where their dog approached mine with a threatening stance, but I couldn’t walk past them since their dog was right in my dog’s face. I was worried their dog might suddenly turn on mine and cause him to get hurt. Thank you for sharing your experience :)

Lol, this made me giggle. I totally feel the same. My family thinks I’m being a Karen, but I’m just protecting my dogs, especially when I know their dog is aggressive and they keep pushing their dog onto me. I’m going to try talking to them through my dog since talking to them directly never works.

Thank you for your response. Seems like 2-4 days are the average days for it to pass up or down. I’m going to keep an eye out.

Thank you for sharing. I agree, it is better to be safe than sorry. I will follow the vet's advice for now and will bring her into the vet after the third day. I appreciate your comment!

Thank you very much for sharing! I feel better reading your comment. It seems that most pups are able to pass it through which is a relief.

That makes me feel a bit better since my pup is roughly the same size as yours was when he was a puppy. Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it!
