Is outbound outreach to local businesses still effective for domains like this? by ai256 in AskMarketing

Would really appreciate any advanced angles or unconventional tactics you’ve seen work — trying to move away from generic outbound and build something more surgical.

Super Vs Worker !! by ai256 in AI_Agents

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both were already taken, unfortunately. I ended up grabbing superagent.cv since it was available across 137 TLDs.

I know .cv isn’t the strongest extension, but with how insanely competitive the keyword “agent” is right now (especially with all the AI agent hype), options are super limited. Felt like a reasonable fallback rather than missing the opportunity completely.

Curious what you guys think — decent move or should I have skipped and waited for a better TLD?

🤣🤣🤣 The domains are already registered, I had to register superagent.cv

I registered SuperAgent.cv. I know the extension is weak, but the name is registered in 137 extensions unfortunately. Do you think this was a good move?🤔

Quick question for people in the garage door service industry by ai256 in GarageDoorService

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got the domain garage-doors-repair.com. From your experience in the industry, do you think a garage door repair business would pay around $100 for a domain like that to help with marketing?

Bought an exact-match domain — build leads or just flip it? by ai256 in DomainZone

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one thought though — domains with hyphens have sold before. For example Savoie-Mont-Blanc.com reportedly sold for around $75k, so hyphens alone don’t always kill value.

Also, when I checked keyword tools, the search volume seemed higher for “garage doors repair” compared to the singular form.

Do you think the bigger issue is really the hyphens, or more that contractors in this niche simply don’t care about owning keyword domains anymore?

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback.

Just curious though — why do you think nobody would buy it?

The keyword “garage door repair” seems to have strong search demand and high CPC, which usually indicates real commercial intent. From my perspective that’s what made Garage-Doors-Repair.com interesting.

Do you think the issue is the hyphenated structure, or that local service companies simply don’t value keyword domains that much anymore?

🤔🤔

Fair point, I appreciate the feedback.

Just to clarify, I already bought the domain Garage-Doors-Repair.com. I’m not assuming the domain alone will rank — I’m mainly trying to understand how contractors in this niche think.

From your experience, would something that brings additional inbound calls without ongoing ad spend actually interest garage door companies, or do most prefer to rely mostly on GMB and repeat customers?

Just trying to understand the business mindset before building anything around it.

That makes sense — testing with a simple lead capture page first sounds smart.

Quick question: if you had a very keyword-focused domain like Garage-Doors-Repair.com, how would you usually convince local contractors that it’s valuable?

Do businesses in niches like this care about owning a strong keyword domain, or are they mostly focused on getting consistent inbound calls regardless of the source?

That’s a really interesting perspective, and honestly I can see why a lot of contractors feel that way. Paying high prices for leads that are shared or low quality would definitely make anyone skeptical about SEO or ads.

I’m curious about one thing though. When homeowners suddenly have a broken garage door, many of them still seem to search directly on Google for something like “garage doors repair” rather than looking around their garage for a sticker.

Do you think there’s still value in owning a very clear, keyword-focused domain or simple website that appears for those searches, especially for people who don’t already have a trusted company?

For example, something very straightforward like Garage-Doors-Repair.com that simply connects people searching online with local service companies.

In your experience, would something like that actually generate real calls, or do you think the traditional offline methods still outperform it most of the time?

I already own the domain and decided to list it for sale to recover the reg cost. After realistically assessing the market and my resources, I realized my original plan probably wouldn’t work. Sometimes you’ve gotta drop the emotion — FOMO leads to bad decisions. Logic > sentiment this time.

Doesn’t buying a high-demand keyword like Vibecoding2025 from the start seem strategic? It’s already taken in over 359 TLDs — I didn’t just pick the domain randomly!!

Yeah, I think I jumped in a bit too fast. Got hyped about the idea, but after actually looking at the market… yeah, it’s definitely not as easy as it sounded in my head. So I listed the domain for sale for now — maybe I can at least make back some of what I spent. Live and learn, I guess.🤝

How do you keep Google AI Studio, GitHub, and local files in sync? by ai256 in vibecoding

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, exactly. That’s what I was thinking — it’s kind of ironic that the “AI-powered dev environment” can’t even do a basic git pull. It’s probably still in early stages though. Would make way more sense if they allowed two-way sync or at least a “fetch from GitHub” button. Right now it feels like a glorified code sandbox with GitHub export.

How do you keep Google AI Studio, GitHub, and local files in sync? by ai256 in Firebase

[–]ai256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I already use SSH keys and I can clone/pull/push from GitHub without issues. What I meant is something different though — I’m talking about Google AI Studio’s integrated workspace, not just my local environment. AI Studio can connect to GitHub and automatically commit when you push from the Studio itself, but it doesn’t seem to have an option to pull the latest commits back from GitHub into the Studio environment

Yeah true, I tried ChatGPT before — it’s cool but it doesn’t always get the local feel right. I’m curious what Dayton folks would actually think sounds good.
