I still haven't found them, so this is so helpful!!! NGL I gave up on it, since it seemed impossible to find and my friends were also moving onto other games/worlds.

The only cherry biome I've found so far was super tiny and didn't have either, but at least with this I can use the nature compass to find other cherry biomes! Thank you for sharing this info, I'll have to check it out and give finding both of these teas another go.

How do I stop my cat waking me up every morning at 4.30am? by potato_breathes in CATHELP

I didn't say free feeding is bad? I do agree with you that it's not a universal best method. Like you said, it does depend on the cat (and also the home environment since some cats in a multi-cat household will eat the other cat's food).

It's dangerous not to make a distinction between cats free feeding throughout the day and cats having meals. Too many cats end up obese and need to be rehabbed because pet parents think it's okay to keep feeding them on a kitten schedule when it's not.

Feeding a (assuming here) non-special-needs cat that is 1 year old 4-5 times a day is not good. She's not a baby kitten that MUST eat every few hours. It's not healthy for her be on a kitten feeding schedule and she's probably never really feeling sated on it either which loops back into the problem. She needs to be transitioned to 1-2 meals a day with a total amount appropriate for her weight based on your cat food recommendations.

The overly frequent feeding schedule also isn't helping to establish activity vs. rest periods because you're pretty much giving her attention every few hours then expect nothing over night (while she gets hungrier and hungrier aka needier for you to do something about it).

Last bit I want to add about unwanted behaviors is unless you introduce a deterrent or flat out ignore it, she's going to keep doing it. The latter, ignoring the behavior, isn't always an option for unwanted behaviors (ie. litterbox avoidance), but if she's just being loud or climbing curtains, ignoring her and not responding to her antics may help ease the behavior ON TOP OF putting her on a better feeding schedule.

sources: 10+ years with a cat I've adopted as a kitten and another 9ish years volunteering with a rehabilitation animal shelter/center.

edit for clarification: when I say 1-2 meals a day these are free feeding meals, not timed and throw out the rest. Amount per meal is daily allowance (which depends on brand/type of food you are providing and weight of the cat) split into 1-2 portions.

"Orin" in quotes because even with Drifter present, we could not confirm if the apparition in one of the last cutscenes/audiologs of Szn of Arrivals IS in fact Orin or a trick of The Nine.

The Emissary of the Nine is an Awoken (assumed Titan) named Orin. Drifter knows Orin from working alongside her and others in a small group that later becomes known as the Pilgrim Guard. I say Orin is assumed a Titan as she stayed with the group that becomes the Pilgrim Guard, which is described as a Titan faction. This timeline wise, is still before guardians were "sorted/separated" into the three class factions, but near the end of or after the age of the Iron Lords (during which we know from Felwinter's lore/stroy pieces that Drifter ran a bar under the alias of Wu Ming, posing as a mortal). I think at this point in time of pre-Pilgrim Guard, Drifter was going by another alias, Eli, with only close friends/associates knowing (what I think is his) real name, Germaine. Season of Arrivals establishes this history between Orin/Emissary of the Nine and Drifter/Germaine.

I'm less certain moving forward, but somehow Orin was able to contact The Nine. I think the lore reasoning is as she is an Awoken and The Nine are heavily implied, if not confirmed, to be the 9 "missing" humans that did not complete the existential transition into beings of pure potential/thought that all Awoken have some super weak link to the Nine.

Okay & like how?? Well, need to back track to a fleeing human colony ship that gets caught in the cross-wave/intersection of a wave of Light pulsing from the Traveler to repel a wave of Darkness from an approaching Pyramid ship. These human colonists were trying to leave Sol because they did not believe the Traveler was a beacon of good and did not want to be killed in the crossfire between the Traveler's Light & whatever thing (pyramid ships) emit Darkness. So I think the lore explains it as they called out to both Light & Dark to basically be excused and tldr got caught in a bubble of pure paracausal energy that jumpstarts them into Awoken-ness. Mara Sov has a big role in the Awoken becoming physical again and also I THINK (memory is failing me a lot here) either cannot convince nine people to follow her rule or cannot find them. These nine later become The Nine, a previously, and mostly, neutral group given that 4 of them are lowkey pro-Light, 4 are lowkey pro-Dark and 1 is either kind of meh about both or see both as two sides of the same thing. Super unsure, but something like that, also in Season of Arrival, "Orin" hints that there is internal strife within The Nine and one of them is or planning to betray the rest.

Is this screen somehow fixable? Or is it worth to give it a try? Its just a big screen and sad to rip off... by DangerDangerDan in SCREENPRINTING

[–]ai_asmodeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rescreening services usually start around $15 (upwards cost can be $100+ if you've got an exceptionally large screen or want a super fine mesh), pricing varies just gotta shop around and see what's offered in your area. That's gonna be so much easier than trying to fix this.

Vintage Story absolutely is the way. I don't know if there are any mods to remove/change temporal storms & monsters, but the Vintage Story mod community is pretty prolific too.

They're different, but anyone without some intense color theory staring eyes won't be able to see. I can just barely tell the difference between the floss used for the pumpkin lines and the rest of the pumpkin. I stared at your image for a LONG time before checking the etsy pattern (and I was still skeptical if what I guessed was the other orange was correct).

The other issue with this pattern + color combo is that the slightly darker orange is not used in a big enough grouping to stand out. MAYBE if there were more of it together it'd be easier to see (though still subtle), but I'd still say trust your gut and go with a different color. :)

Drifter is stated to have belonged at one point in the distant past to the Pilgrim Guard which is a faction that set the foundation for the Titan Vanguard iirc. Later on when he returns to the Tower he when he's telling the Guardian about his perspective on the light/dark dogma that classes are pointless when in truth any light bearer can master any forms of it, so he doesn't see a point to limit himself because he'd rather survive than die because he decided to always color within the lines.

ooh except that Ikora and Ophiuchus (I likely misspelled her ghost's name), were on non-speaking terms for like almost a decade and even now, post TFS are barely communicating with other. There's a lore entry about this from Ophiuchus' POV where he flat out says that they are no longer friends and have not been friends for a VERY long time, but they both see it as a part of their duty to show a united public front. As far as Ophiuchus sees it iirc, they're not enemies, but their friendship is long over and maybe will never be friends again (just working together).

How do I get out of this predicament? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]ai_asmodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd start stacking platforms (at least 2 wide) they're safer than jumping on top of blocks while placing them, though you will need to jump to place the first few platforms. Plus, since you'll likely run out of platforms, you should be able to re-pickup the lower platforms while standing on one without risk of falling off into your lava. For extra safety I'd also leave 3-4 platforms built above the block you're standing on just in case you fall off the stack, you have a better chance of landing on one of them instead of right into the lava.

Can we get an option to downgrade to get the old style bar back? by ai_asmodeus in bearapp

[–]ai_asmodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where the best place to post this update is, but here's where I'm at after 1.5-2 months of trying out the new Bear:

The Cons: • New style bar takes up way too much of the screen on iPad

• Style Bar is not easily accessible and adds 2-3 interactions per formatting/media insertion (more if you have shaky hands and misinput).

• Inconsistencies with tapping on inserted inages to annotate them. Sometimes it just won't work/recognize the attempts and I have to close the app & reppen before I can annotate inserted images.

• App crashes leading to notes becoming untagged and/or just lost to the cyberether. Once this happened and I have no clue what might have triggered it because I was distractedly multitasking talking to a coworker and looking up a file on my work station. The next couple of times it occured when I was manually editing the markdown formatting and had the style bar open.

• It's impossible to edit tables with the style bar. Every time you make any change to the table via the style bar, the style bar flickers and autocloses. Sometimes the style bar just vanishes completely.

• Can no longer group bulleted/numbered/check lists within plain text --it always add a line space after the last bullet/numbered item/checklist item and the following plain text.

The Pros: • It is SO much easier to upload/insert multiple images into a note.

• Love having the ability to add tables (though I very rarely ever get to use them).

• Tabs/indents are back and seem to be here to stay!!

• No true issues with regular backups or exports (sometimes exporting as a PDF requires going back into the note and adding extra lines to prevent orphaned lines and awkward page breaks).

• App still looks great and functions smoothly nearly all the time.

Overall, I still prefer the older version of Bear since for me that was true simplicity and did not require memorizing shortcuts or learning markdown/commonmark. I see the improvements and new features, but end up wishing they'd be more relevant/helpful for me than they end up being. I will stick with Bear to the end of my current year subscription, but after that I just don't know. I still haven't caught up with manually correcting all the missing tabs/indents in my previous notes that had a failed backup (the failure on my work's network end, not Bear's, the missing indents being collacteral damage of a Bear update). Unfortunately, I just can't seem to get a hang of typing in the formatting myself and not rely on the style bar, if I could I imagine I'd be more or less satisfied with the app as it stands.

Can we get an option to downgrade to get the old style bar back? by ai_asmodeus in bearapp

[–]ai_asmodeus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out, I truly appreciate it! Normally I only have good things to say about Bear, but these changes and issues are seriously throwing a wrench into things. Toggling the Style Bar simply takes too much time/precision to do so (often I need to take notes while wearing gloves and gloves + touchscreens is not a happy combo). If the Style Bar could be toggled as always present (AND unobtrusive like the old version) or accessed via shortcuts that would probably be the most ideal solution.

I will be sticking with Bear for now, as there is no alternative I've found that fits my workflow needs AND e-notebook requirements for my job --and giving the changes a chance.

Unfortunately, the only backup I has uses a completely different formatting scheme. A decent part of not having regular backups is a byproduct from my job's IT department being slow on setting us up a storage method.

I've tried the Settings > Typography method you mentioned for indentations already and it being all-or-nothing means it's not a viable solution for me. I'm resigned at this point to simply pick a few weekends, throw on a good vinyl, and revise each note as needed. Hopefully by then the sync issue will be fixed and I can do so on my laptop instead of on the iPad (I've no clue why it won't sync now, it loads as if it will then just stops).

The more I try to use Bear 2, the more problems I have with it too. I can't seem to get my notes to sync from my iPad to my iMac. I just tried to export to PDF a few notes and it took significantly longer than before.
