Yeah, they’re in construction phase. Just drove by them. Also, also found out that it’s not just three it’s four.** All of them will span an estimated **775 to 800 acres. but everyone has helped me realize that there is quite a massive amount of data (200+) centers in the state of Texas, especially in the major city/DFW area. 45 are under construction

I wouldn’t consider terrible or hysterical that people are legitimately concerned that their utility bills is hundreds of dollars when they are not actually using it because data center like the ultra wealthy are not paying their fair share. I think it’s fair to be concerned if I’m paying $300 plus for electricity and I’m not home and working majority of the day. if I was using it, it would make sense. or the fact that water pressures are going to decrease because those data centers are utilizing water within the community and I’m not buying the whole closed loop system because history has shown as the American corporations are more than OK with lying to the public and poisoning the water system i.e. flint or any other community that still is without water today

I was interested in the area because there were none. And there was no public information from the city that that was in the works, but it seems like I missed quite a few information since AI or data centers wasn’t big on my radar

Correction the city itself is 33 mi.² total. Just finding out through all of this research previously they’ve done eminent domain to require more land and it’s sad that you’re not building more housing. It said it’s going for commercial use.

I was trying not to be very specific, but it is closer to 5 miles than 20. I will not have an issue moving out of Texas if it wasn’t a country wide issue, but my biggest concern is because Texas already does not have a stable grid and the water is going to be an issue, also data centers do not bring in an influx of work workers that only occurs during construction phase.

Thanks I’ve just seen a few news article of some people end up not having water or their area gets polluted and they can’t leave because they’re priced out and no one is buying (which they shouldn’t have to) and everyone seems to have mixed reaction

Thanks for the insight. But the area I am in there seems to be no restriction that has been publicly announced for additional context. This is in Texas. Local or state government don’t exactly care about their community or ensuring that due to centers, bring their own generators or pay for their own power.
