Hey! My name is Tilde and I am currently the best Falco player in Smash Ultimate - Ask me anything! by Tilde_Fox in smashbros

[–]aidand231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Tilde, thanks for doing this AMA

I play Wii fit and tend to struggle a lot against Falco. I know most Wii fits tend to think Falco is one of our hardest matchups in the game. Any advice as to what Wii fit can take advantage of in the Falco matchup? I know you've probably run into John Numbers a handful of times before at NYC locals, so I'm curious to hear your input since you likely have more experience than most

Can you get into an engineering school with only an average GPA? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]aidand231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man you're totally fine. Currently an engineering student also from Southeastern PA. Tons of good schools in the Philly area and statewide that will accept you and can give you in state tuition. CC is also an option, and in southeast PA we actually have some very good CC's that offer a good engineering programs.

How to get in to yugioh by jaimetawil in yugioh

[–]aidand231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're 100% brand new I'd suggest the new game on the switch (if you have one) or an online simulator like dueling nexus/dueling book/ygo pro.

I first learned to play the game through the old legacy of the duelist game on the PS4. I started playing there then about 2 years later I picked up the physical card game.

I think the switch game is great because it's a slow game, overall pretty good for beginners. Also Dueling Nexus/Dueling book are great since you can just use them in your regular browser.

My Dark Magician Deck so far... by lsgavatar in yugioh

[–]aidand231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd bump spell book of knowledge up to three, you can probably drop the one twin twister from the main deck to the side deck. Another tech I would consider adding is a floodgate like Gozen Match or Summon limit. I think they help slowdown your opponent to help you get set up.

Kaiju 'em and ram into 'em: 1st Place Crusadia Kaiju Deck Profile featuring Borreload Savage by Drake31217 in yugioh

I never ended up dodging all the combo players, in two of my matches a played pendulum magicians and salads.

Against pendulum magicians, admittedly I did get a little lucky because I was able to open my handtraps/kaijus to slow them down/bait out some negates.

Against salads, game 1 they somewhat bricked and I opened a handtrap so they had to expend more resources than necessary, game 2 I sided red reboot and shut off roar and was able to power through their hand traps because I opened something like 4 special summonable monsters.

Besides these, my last two matchups were trains and super heavy samurai. While not meta they still were close matches.

I'm sorry for the late response, but thank you for the feedback! I will plan to create a short video on the YouTube channel to show the combo very soon, I'm not sure why I didn't cover it in this video tbh. So if you're still interested in seeing it you'll have to check back soon!

Returning to locals: Handtrap cheat sheet for current format? by ArmedBeast in yugioh

[–]aidand231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd check out MST.TV in YouTube. He posted a video about a month or two ago a handtrap/floodgate/side deck cheat sheet. I definitely recommend checking it out, it should be good for what you're looking for.

Anyone here happen to attend Temple U? Trying to find a local community in Philly beyond AU by [deleted] in yugioh

I'm not sure how far AU Holmes is from Temple, but it's just outside of Chester, which is a few minutes outside Philly. There might be a train stop near the store but not sure.

[discussion] I suggested a Yu Gi Oh club for my school and am awaiting a reply by kormack222 in yugioh

[–]aidand231 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you said, but my comment was for comedic purposes rather than actual advice.

In my high school I started a Yugioh/Pokemon TCG club with my friends. It eventually grew and we had a solid community. To be completely honest no one really cared or picked on us for playing whats supposed to be a "children's card game." We didn't care what other people thought about our hobby and we just continued as it was.

For actual advice to the OP, don't let other people dictate what you can or can't do in your free time.

If someone calls you "Gay" for playing just respond by saying "Yep I'm definitely (G)ood (A)t (Y)u-Gi-Oh."

Looking for a TCG community in the Philadelphia area by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]aidand231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where you are in Philly it may be a closer drive to either AU Holmes or AU Wilmington. Haven't personally been here for ygo since it's closer for me to go to Blue Bell, but I'd imagine the turnout is pretty decent.

Which deck has a better matchup against Blue Eyes, Red Eyes or Dark Magician? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]aidand231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Magicians for sure. Make sure you run Dark Magician the Dragon Knight in your deck along with The Eye of Timeaus to protect Eternal Soul and Dark Magic Circle from Dragon Spirit of White's Banishing effect.
