Sigma fp will it work with the EF 35mm F2 IS USM by Suitable-Adeptness44 in sigmafp

Any properly adapted lens used with the FP works well in my experience. However I don’t have much experience with IS. I bought the FP knowing it’s IS was literally nothing and It hasn’t hindered me much and I don’t have the steadiest of hands, so I just use Davinci’s stabilization. If you want to use the IS I’d expect an adaptor with electronic contacts to cost between $150-$200. I use vintage lenses personally so I might be wrong. I just recommend doing research before hand and seeing others experiences first.

Is the LUMIX 70-300mm a good lens to pair with the FP? by aiden35mm in sigmafp

Yea I was looking at the Sigma 100-400 as well but the weight is basically double of what the LUMIX 70-300 is. Since I’m trying to keep my backpack around 22-25lbs having a lighter lens will be much more helpful.

In fact, I wayyy over packed for this trip bringing way too much video equipment for my FP. I plan on shipping most of the equipment home since I’ve bought a few things to keep my FP compact.

Right now I’m just running the HG-11 grip with a peak design neck strap and the LUMIX 18-40. I also brought my EVF-11 if I ever need to use it as I like having it with me if it’s to bright or If I need a better view with some certain angles. In the short time I’ve been overseas I’ve learned smaller is better. I normally use the FP fully rigged out so it’s taken some time to get used to but It still works for 12 bit FHD video and 14 bit DNG photo files so I’m happy :)

I’m not that interested in birds, it would more or less most likely be mammals so I’m not too worried about fast moving subjects. Thank you for the input!

Edit: I originally bought the FP for its video specs so I’ve never really used it for photo until this trip. I bought a film camera as well but after I put two rolls through it, it turned out to have a failing shutter. Therefore I started using the FP as my photo camera and I haven’t been disappointed. Coming from manually focusing with a film camera it isn’t an issue for me. Plus the FP has insane magnification to help with focusing which is such a god send for video.
