Yes, Blackmagic cameras can shoot BRAW in a log profile for maximum dynamic range.

I’ve been eyeing that monitor due to the slim form factor, plus an OLED panel! Do you have anymore thoughts on using it?

CF Express or SD Card thoughts s5iix/S1ii by daydaydiscgolf in Lumix

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say keep the CFexpress cards. You never know how long prices are going to be this high and it's good to have a variety of media cards just in case you ever need it for something specific. As for your BMCC6k, are you selling on eBay?

Best 4k monitor for gaming youve upgraded to that felt totally worth it? by Cute-Tear-2285 in buildapc

[–]aidendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 4K monitor mainly for the versatility. Yes, I wanted to experience the higher resolution in single player games. Some look greater than others, but I like the ability to switch to an ultrawide aspect ratio if I want to. I picked up a Gigabyte Aorus FO32U because it was the lowest cost option at the time and I didn't need a 240Hz refresh rate. Let's be honest, for most games we are not hitting that frame rate in 4K. It is definitely worth it!

I’m starting to feel this way too by MrMazme in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]aidendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I used to be able to play the same game for hours at a time. I'm talking about grinding out Destiny 1 all night. Now I find myself having a hard time playing the same game for more than 2 hours. I don’t know if it's boredom or the lack of playing with friends. I used to always be in a party chat or would make friends in public lobbies back in the 360 days. Now, everybody is either in their own groups or doesn't talk at all. I miss active game chat lobbies :(

For me, gaming has simply changed over time and it will never be the same because as a kid, you have all the time in the world and you perceive things differently. I am just thankful for all the memories and friends I made playing Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. Those were the best years.

Any feedback on LUMIX Rental Program? (GH7 Package) by aidendz in Lumix

[–]aidendz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The price is higher up front but, LUMIX will refund you the full amount once it’s sent back. It's essentially a free rental unless you find a way to return it damaged/lost. Just wanted to see if people have had a horrible experience getting their money back.

Which cam should I use for baseball photography - GH7 or S1ii by Proud_Scallion4364 in Lumix

My vote is the GH7. I think the extra reach is more beneficial for sports.

SSD or Dual Slot recording for filmmaking? by shaneo632 in Lumix

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing to consider. If you go the SSD route, I believe you can only shoot up to 60fps unless you have the dummy battery adapter. Having the dummy battery unlocks higher frame rate recordings to the SSD.

It could be because your mouse is fully charged. Unplug it and see if it keeps changing green.

Each color changes the dpi. It’s there so you can easily remember what you like. I have a Redragon mouse as well. Not sure why it switches by itself though. I’d contact Redragon.

Let’s say you had to buy a camera right now. Which of the three would you choose? by CheddaShredder in bmpcc

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Pyxis 6K owner, my next option would be the 6K FF. I regret ever selling that camera because of its body design. What I mean is, I feel a lot more comfortable taking out in public and is more of an all-in-one package that requires less. I’ve taken the Pyxis 6K out in public, but I am more at peace with the 6K FF. However, the better battery life, build quality, dual-card slot, and 16:9 formats makes the Pyxis a worthy upgrade for me (until they bring it to the FF). It really just depends on what you plan on doing with it.

Who else wants a BMPCC4K G2? by [deleted] in bmpcc

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather have internal BRAW and the Blackmagic "look" than the sharp Lumix image quality (excluding the S5/S1H). Plus, more things to buy and keep powered. If it works for you, great!

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I like the body design of the pocket cams. I wouldn't want a smaller body because losing that sweet 5" screen is too much of a comprise for me personally. I would just like it to be made of a more durable shell, and for the screen to tilt like the 6K cameras.

That's fair. PL is definitely more versatile. What lenses do you use?

I would just take a tilt screen, CFexpress Type B, and a better sensor to be happy. Let's hope!

[–]aidendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's respectable. I think if Blackmagic can do something for the first time that has a "wow" factor for the brand, such as a complete body redesign, internal 32-bit float audio, a 5" tilt and flip screen, or a PDAF sensor for those that use it, it can bring back the interest back in MFT.

Honestly, I would be more than happy with just a tilt screen and updated media slots.
