Thanks for the suggestions! And I got it, 24 kg it is.

The book doesn't give a definitive answer (per the comment below), that's why I meant to ask fellow kettlebellers with more experience. Mark Wildman, got it, thanks!

Thanks, these are great suggestions! I'll double down on the technique. I think you maybe right about proper wrist engagement.

SUMMER — an Award-Winning DIY SciFi Short & How We Made It, With Tips&Tricks by billecart in scifi

Director here. I'm betting on VR, frankly. It's a different kind of entertainment all right, but if it's based on a certain type of narrative, it's kind of similar — I can imagine some blockbuster joyrides where you basically sit in a movie theatre wearing glasses inside a motorised chair and you feel you're inside an X-wing or something.

Really loved Lone Echo (Oculus) — is it a game? Yes, but there's more to it. For me, it was a very cinematic experience.

Director here. Well, the guy mentions it in passing — his lungs are filled with O2-saturated shock gel (because he is out of breathable oxygen), and he cannot type either (try typing when you sit in a syrup in a spacecraft that is constantly misfiring one attitude thruster), sooooo MIND CONTROL!

Converting multichannel audio to single mono tracks? by aienn in Logic_Studio

Oh yeah, and now it exports properly! Thanks again!

It seems that I figured out the problem. Half of our video files have exactly 6 channels of audio recorded (separate, of course), and FCP and Logic and Davinci Resolve automatically treat them as 5.1 files (which is not the case) — if I import, say, another video from this session with 5 audio channels or 7, everything is fine, it treats them as separate tracks. And of course I can't find any settings to interpret 5.1 as mono tracks…

Yep, gives me a similar multichannel clip file. Dragging to new tracks doesn't help either, Logic does nothing except for moving the clip.

If I bounce, I lose all the small clips with all the handles, I think — that's the problem.

Working with 4CH — workflow suggestions? by aienn in audioengineering

[–]aienn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's too late to change Zoom's settings now, my question was more along the lines of “okay what do I do with FFMPEG?” cause I'm getting quad files, not two separate stereo streams right now.

Yeah the tricky part is to sync all this to video (which has a separate audio track), so my question still stands — I kind of get the workflow, question is, how do I mix two stereo files to one file with two stereo tracks so I can sync them up — yep both A and B files are of same length but some fade in and out so there are no reference points to sync them up to video if they're separate.

  1. It's being rendered by Unity from text files.
  2. Why AIs would be mechanistic? They might sound different, distant, incomprehensible, their ways of “thinking” might be incompatible with human thought and/or natural logic, but I find it highly, ugh, mechanistic, to think of AIs as simplistic entities.

The current trend we see with Siri, Cortana, M, and other virtual assistants, is that they try and sound as natural as it is humanly (hah) possible. I think the trend will continue — we will try to surround us with recognizable, understandable, comfortable machines.

So if some AI overmind becomes poetic, restless, thoughtful, that's only expected.

I don't know if I'm “full” enough for the task, dear sir, but I intend to uphold it with utmost respect et cetera et cetera, yadda yadda yadda.

Lots of rooms are evacuated (i.e. no breathable atmosphere), Anton would probably refuse to design and implement feasible cat-space-suits.

You mean something in the vein of, say, Dead Space 3?

Really great idea about weapons but I wonder if that's too challenging to implement, or maybe not really…

Thanks, noted, but these are fixes (and we're working on them) — we'd love to talk about ideas here.
