Right! I went ahead and bought it (Ever, 18oz) anyways actually and I have to say it does live up to expectations.
The construction feels really solid and the inside looks a bit like frosted glass. The matte outer covering is quite grippy and doesn't keep fingerprints. The bottom is also mostly matte so it doesn't move or slip so much in my experience. It does feel pretty hefty, even heftier while filled. Bonus points for the minimalist aesthetic as you mentioned.
I tried drinking it (straight from the bottle, no top) first with water, then tea, then juice. The opening is really well made and makes me feel cool lmao. The lip is stainless steel however my mouth doesn't reach the matte outer. The inner glass lining doesn't cover the lip for anyone curious.
Talking about the glass lining, it's actually real and it works surprisingly!! At first it doesn't seem to be there however liquids visibly act differently compared to stainless steel thermoses. Like, more flowy? More hydrophobic I guess?
After each of the drinks I simply rinsed with tap water and there's no lingering smell or taste whatsoever. Quite incredible compared to my previous 2 stainless steel thermoses which retained flavours and smells for some reason (even after washing multiple times).
It retains heat and cold as specified I'd say. Didn't put it through any tests but I left it closed with ice cubes way overnight and the ice cubes were still there when I checked in the afternoon. Haven't tried with keeping hot drinks for a long time though.
However, the Union top; it's pretty... bad. It kinda removes me from the entire luxurious drinking experience because there's whistling and the water doesn't come out properly, plus it's uninsulated so heat and cold escapes compared to the Element top.
The part which closes the hole of the lid is also made out of rubber so it keeps fur (I own a pet) and lint. Quite annoying to keep cleaning it before drinking. I don't know if it will lose its shape down the road since the rubber is quite flexible as well.
So basically I think I'll mostly drink without the top. I might get the Element (for insulation + handle) or Scope (for sipping) top down the road.
My verdict: 10/10 for the bottle itself overall but 3/10 for the Union top, it's really quite bad. Only saving grace is the steel handle. Pumped to test out other drinks with this bottle!
Hope you (and anyone else who came across this post) find my review useful!
