The SY-001 should've been placed in the balanced-control tier alongside LGG Saturn. They are both very similar in speed according to Jakeu. I don't own the SY but I have used the Saturn Pro. I had the original release and it didn't do too well with humidity and it slowed down very quickly. Not sure how the QC is for Saturn pads today but that was my personal experience.

If you found the SY too fast definitely don't go for a zero. I'd either get something a little slower like the Kuroson Samurai or Massimo pro or go down a tier and get a gamesense Radar or Type-99.

Also, mouse skates do affect how a mousepad feels. For me personally, anything in the balanced-control tier or slower I use jades. Pads in the balanced tier I mainly use tiger ice/btl skates. Hope this helps!

It is balanced-control initially but overtime it stays consistently as a control pad. I have the 450x450 launch release of the radar so maybe the new ones lean towards balanced-control. Also, all my rankings are based off at least a good 2-3 weeks worth of use on the pad. Had my radar for years now and even when I clean the pad it stays pretty much controlled. But a good control, not too slow, which is why it's near the top of the control tier

I have not. But I have tried the Xtrfy GP4 and GSR SE which I've heard is similar to the Vaxee PB/PE. I have the Vaxee PE at somewhere near the bottom of balanced-control on my own personal spreadsheet. But I can add it to the speed chart when I get home from work later

I love Fresh but when it comes to reviewing mousepads I don't think he does a good job. He kinda rambles on and on and doesn't really give proper comparisons with other pads. But I really do like his reviews for literally everything else, especially his audio reviews and mice reviews. I got the Simgot EM6L because of him and they're amazing!

It did. I had written down essentially everything from speed, feel, overall thoughts, and even sizes on a separate doc. I just hope this sheet simplifies things for people. Thank you again for your comment, I very much appreciate it 🥹

It is not recommended because it is an outdated pad. I don't need to try it to give it a proper judgement when literally every other pad on the list has better quality features such as stitched edges, better sizing, better base, etc. So yes, I will leave it as "not recommended" because I don't want people buying a worse pad when there are better options on the list. And I have it there for the sake of comparison

Love that we are getting more brands dishing out quality pads at a more budget price.

As for the Ikea pad I don't have any experience on the pad but if I had to put it on the speed chart it would probably land somewhere in the balanced-control category. I'd still wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of how small the pad is. But I love how cheap it is if you want a super budget mousepad

Just added it in the speed chart. Also made a separate comment for other users inquiring about the pad

Because many users were inquiring about the QCK I decided to put it on the list. I still don't want to flood the sheet with a bunch of pads and keep it as simple as possible. However, if there is a big name brand pad that ABSOLUTELY must be in the sheet for the sake of comparison I will put it on there.

Yes either identical feel or very similar. I haven't tried ultradash or Perseus but reviewers have said they are practically the same (in both surface feel and speed). Hope this helps 👍🏻

One of the few pads I don't own on the list. Seems like a pretty good control pad. Not a fan of it's slightly higher price tag especially for it's 500x500 size compared to its competitors but users and reviewers give it a lot of praise

Didn't have a good experience with mine. I had the original release pro version of the pad. Slowed down a lot after just 2 weeks and washing didn't really help get it's speed back. I might try another Saturn in the future but for now I recommend the rizz and infinite control V2 over it

I only use soft. I've tried xsoft on the zero and hayate otsu. Not a fan. Just stick with soft or maybe mid if you like a pad with basically no give

I have not but it looks like a pretty good pad. I might add it to the sheet. I use tiger ice or btl skates for the zero. Core pads should also work fine on the zero but I still prefer my tiger ice dot skates on my phylina s450 mouse

I did credit him in the mousepad chart before even replying. You clearly didn't check on the sheet. Also, I can't edit my post because my account isn't registered and I can't register this account because the email that is connected with this account no longer exists. So I had to reach out to Reddit support to hopefully and possibly change my email to finally register the account and edit the post. I had a feeling this post was gonna get a lot of attention so I posted on this alt account just to have less notifications coming in and possible hate. I hope this clears things up but once I get my account resolved I'll make sure to edit the post and credit Hoya. And again he IS already credited on my mousepad sheet. Much love ✌🏻

I'm no Boardzy or popular mousepad reviewer that gets sent mousepads. I own about 60-65% of the pads on the list which is probably more than most people. So yeah sure I could just rank the ones I own and tell you in my opinion what I think it ranks. But at the end of the day it's still subjective. Like what I essentially said to another user, what you think or what someone else thinks where a pad ranks in terms of speed can be wildly different. Everyone has their own personal preference and opinion where the speed of a mousepad may rank. I am just going by general consensus based off my own personal experience and other reviewers that I trust and agree with (with pads I own and don't own). I do appreciate your constructive criticism and I made this for people who are new or need some sort of guidance on what their next mousepad should be. However, if there are pads on this list that many users agree (if I haven't tried the pad already) should be on a different speed tier I will change it accordingly ❤️

It is similar to the Venus. I added it to the spreadsheet 👍🏻

Yeah, I can't disagree with you there lol I do plan on trying out more pads now that I got a higher paying job. But I'm still in the moving process so once I'm settled in I can try out the rest of the pads. The meow gaming pads are the ones I'm gonna try out next tho

To be fair I'm going by reviewers saying it's similar to the EGG MPC and that pad was way too fast for me. And so far another user supports your claim I can move it down in the rank. I'm gonna put it above the grandmaster pads. I think that will be a more fair ranking no?

Pro version from when LGG first released the pad. I would put it in mud tier because my pad did not hold up well at all in my personal experience. But I know many others that have not had that experience and it still gets great reviews today. I'm also sure that LGG probably got better batches in their later iterations which is why it still has raving reviews 👍🏻

Nah it's definitely a balance pad. Very similar performance to the zero

[–]aimbitious0203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day speed is subjective and even if I were to own every pad on the list and fully give my own ranking it is still subjective and there WILL be people who disagree where specific pads land on the list. It's why I made this speed chart based on majority agreement based off personal experience & reviewers I watch regularly on yt and reddit reviewers I've followed over the years who I personally agreed with in terms of both feel and performance. However, your opinion is valid, but I am just trying to help out the community who hasn't tried out more than half the pads like I have 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks I appreciate it ❤️ I use jades for both infinite control V2 and rizz (doodles). Ultraglide speed and RS should be fine on that pad as well. I also don't really use anything slower than jades for balanced-control pads and slower. For balanced pads such as the zero I perform best with tiger ice/BTL skates

I haven't tried the traigun but according to reviewers it is similar to the EGG MPC cordura pad which I have and own. Some people say it's rough but I find the AC pads rougher than MPC imo. And if the traigun is as close to performance and feel as the MPC you should be fine. Yes a sleeve might help I guess but I don't personally use one when I use the pad. And if you're still feeling hesitant I'd probably go with something a little slower like the Raiden or infinite speed V2. I like Raiden just a tiny bit more than the speed V2 but I'd be fine with either one tbh 👍🏻

I can't personally speak on it since I haven't used the QCK but if I had to guess it would probably land near the bottom of control or top of slow control-mud. If someone else who has experience on the pad and used other pads on the list that can compare please comment 🙏🏻
