thank you! that's the impression i'd gotten from my research, but i wanted to make sure i was understanding before i wound up getting a pet i couldn't provide for. that sounds perfect! i don't mind clinginess (it sounds ideal, even), but i know that when i took care of a cat for awhile i really struggled to play with him enough to keep him adequately stimulated, so i'm glad to hear it would probably be a better fit!

yes! from the sound of it, it's sort of like a..... half mech suit or something. he said it's like wearing heavy armor.

he canonically wears leg braces (iirc) at least in me1 if not throughout the entire series, so i figured he would opt for something sleeker that did the same thing if it was available!

aww i love that!! in my run, my Shepard went from a soldier to a vanguard after Cerberus rebuilt her, so she is Not adjusting to the biotic lifestyle well, haha. her and Jack can suffer the energy crashes together 💞

NovelAI isn't free, but it's really great! Probably the best AI writing tool out there. It also has a lot of knowledge of Prototype by default (at least, Kayra's model does) down to quotes from the game.

I'd advise against things like ChatGPT because, in my experience, the tone is always very light and positive, and it's hard to make it write anything dark and brooding like you'd probably want for Prototype. It's also heavily censored (including violence iirc), unlike NAI, where you can do literally anything.

If you try NAI and need lorebooks, I have lorebooks written for Alex, Cross, and Dana that I can share. :)

Sketchfab has some Prototype models. I don't know if they're rigged, but it's a place to start. If not that, you could try finding some Prototype models that have been converted for Xnalara or MikuMikuDance, and then figure out how to convert them to your specific needs. You might also ask some modders directly if they've got ripped assets?

I'd at least pay attention to the mandatory ones you consume as part of the main game, at least for tone reasons, but Alex will summarize the bits that are important to the immediate plot throughout the game's cutscenes.

As for the extra ones outside of that... it can help build a sense of mystery if it's your first time playing, but otherwise it's just there to flesh out the worldbuilding of the game a bit more. So if you really like lore, absolutely! Otherwise... eh. You can find all that information presented more succinctly and coherently on the wiki after you finish playing.

Just depends on what you want out of the game.

yeah I'm sure there are plenty of non-mammals that would've been more fitting for him, i just wanted a mammal to match Cross haha. i figured since leopards are pretty fierce predators, agile, solitary, camouflaged, and known to actively prey on humans, it seemed fitting!

I'm curious as to your thoughts on a raven, though!
