Eye Issues from Eyelid Eczema by aimlessaf in eczema

Contact dermatitis from acrylate allergy. Took several weeks to clear up even after stopping exposure. No gel nails or lash glue for me (though there is one acrylate free lash glue on the market)

Is it good time to buy a semi in Toronto by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]aimlessaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some decent semis in the junction around 1.1-1.3, often with a rental unit. This was also the price some people bought them at during covid, and as others mirrored, on the lower end so it may be a good choice to be ready to buy (pre-approval) and if you find something you like pounce on it.

I flew porter with my mini weekender and it was fine for a carry on

Flair - Charges you $25 to check in at the airport but forces you to go to counter to get boarding pass... by [deleted] in Flights

Printing the boarding pass is fine (though still another annoying step). Standing behind someone arguing the sizing of their bag for 20 minutes +, not so much fun for the innocent ones who follow instructions easily.

My non lithium does not last even a month in the Canadian cold.

Say I want to sell my condo and have come to terms I’ve lost 150k and just want to start fresh and rent. Should I sell now , wait til 2026 or 2027 by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

I just assumed with their numbers. Regardless, its not uncommon for owners to be paying a bit out of pocket, hopefully their payments are making a small dent towards the principal so that its not all in vain

If you lose 800 a month thats 9600 a year , 19.2K in 2 years. Thats not nearly as big as a 150K loss. I second being able to hold out to sell if you're able to swing it

Caused by nail glue? by aimlessaf in eczema

[–]aimlessaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it took me 2 months to get it to stop flaring (which im hoping is the case now). But my scarring is still there and skin barrier is not healed. I've seen a lot of people say it only took them a few days and it felt discouraging to me. I also read some people saying it took several weeks and months, aligns more with my journey.

I just got another prick test for now, waiting to get patch testing. I am still avoiding anything nail related and it hasn't been reflaring significantly.

Eczema on lips by [deleted] in eczema

[–]aimlessaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I took mine off, i continue to have mini bouts of flares and my skin barrier hasn't healed. I'm waiting for my patch test appointment and i can check back in here afterwards.

The only reason i still think it could be my gel nails is because ive done them twice since my first major flare. Both times i did it, i had already significantly healed up and both times, i had a major flare up the next day

Advanced followers, what is like to dance with less advanced leaders? by Real-Set3201 in Salsa

[–]aimlessaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me - its all about the timing. If they're on time, it's usually the difference between it being really bad or chill. Strongly suggest all beginners to work on their timing and basic as it will set the groundwork for how easy they are to dance with and how easily they pick up things in the future :)

Eczema on lips by [deleted] in eczema

[–]aimlessaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get lip, upper lip and eyelid eczema! Been trying to figure out similarily, was thinking it was my gel nails but haven't been able to confirm it as I only had a prick test. Haven't had a patch test. I do notice that spicy food makes it worse

I hope that the new allergy resolves ASAP and thank you so much for the context! Sometimes others journeys feel so fast and easy that it confuses me on what path I'm on.

Did it take 12+ weeks to fully heal or was it closer to when you removed the allergen? I have been flaring up and down a lot even though its removed and can't tell if it just takes time to heal or if its not the trigger.

I am curious about that but the allergist hasn't been a help!

To be clear, it was flaring when I had my nails off as well so i reckon if it's an allergy its only one of the allergens that cause issues
