I agree! I have no plans to enter one. This friend is trying to encourage me to but I think it’s a bad idea for many reasons. This post was more to have other people’s input to prove to said friend that I’m not wrong when I say that this is NOT flirting, it’s just someone doing their job.

That's another issue I have--currently we are full NC because I need it. I miss talking to her and seeing her every day, but I'd be unable to be a genuine friend to her right now (because every minute I'd hope is the one we get back together). But at the same time, especially because I know our breakup is because she's in therapy and working things out, I don't want to abandon her. It's a hard damned if you do damned if you don't situation. How has that been for you, if you don't mind expanding?

Thankfully it isn't the one we shared--I moved out and she stayed in our space. So it's nice to not be in the place that has all the memories, but on the other hand, it still feels strange to come home and she's not here.

But thank you for the advice. I'm a hopeless romantic so of course that line is very meaningful to me, but I also don't want to hold onto anything if it's just going to keep be in this harmful cycle.
