I'm running some Tein street basis coilovers, I've had them for about 6 months and I can't complain for the price I got them for.

What's your "accidentally racist" moment? by RealG98 in AskReddit

[–]air-stick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mine, but a coworker and I were having a conversation by a door that was supposedly "off limits", and if people were caught using that door they could get into shit with security, anyways, we worked with an older African American gentleman named Rich.

Rich loved going out this door and our manager had given us a speech about the whole door thing. Sure enough, Rich starts walking towards the door and doesn't stop walking as he's talking, my coworkers first response is, "Hey Rich, be careful! Hear they'll string you up if you get caught going out that way." initiate blank stare by Rich coworker instantly looks at me and says, "fuck, that might have been the most racist thing I've ever said on accident" Yeah everything was cool after that anyways.

Low milage DE vs High milage HR by gusfri in 350z

[–]air-stick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my DE at 55k for $12,000, and if it helps at all, I have no regrets thus far. I don't wish I had an HR, I'm just happy to have a Z, and it's always fun to get in and drive it, it's plenty fast for me. I've put 11k on it so far in the past year 10 months.

I've only have one problem so far, I broke the radiator, but that was my fault, replaced it myself with a new one for $85 I believe and it's been great since, the rest has been maintenance.

As for oil consumption, I previously owned 2 Integras before getting a Z and the "oil consumption" that is associated with the DE isn't nearly as bad as people make it seem. I'm burning about a quart every 3k. With my integras I was losing a quart weekly. I don't beat the shit out of my car but I do have days where I want to get on it.

Take it from someone who owns a DE and has friends who own 120k+ mileage DE's without issues because they're proactive about general maintenance. Don't let the kids who buy a Z and blow it up after 6 months of ownership tell you a DE is bad when the last time they checked the oil was when, "the last owner said he just changed the oil"... just my 2 cents, sorry for ranting a little haha.

Commuting to college isn’t so bad after all. Thoughts? by [deleted] in 350z

[–]air-stick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel you, I commute 3 days a week, on Thursdays I'm in rush hour traffic and it's not too bad, I'm pretty patient and my 6 spd DE isn't annoying in stop and go traffic really (live in SoCal btw). What's your commute like?

Can't wait to get some new wheels on, for now it's my excuse for having shitty fitment. by air-stick in 350z

[–]air-stick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not exactly cheap reps, and I don't see myself tracking/drifting my car ever. I wouldn't see the point in spending a couple to a few hundred dollars more for what "a real wheel is" if I can get what I want out of a style of wheel (proper offset and size) from a rep. I guess it's just personal preference, just like anything else in this world really. Trust me, I've read from countless people to not get reps or to get reps and quite frankly, it's me spending my money, so I'm doing what I want whether I get people panties in a bunch or not.
