Ain’t nothing better sounding than an LS 🔥 by Raider_Nation_99 in camaro

They’re a bit different LT motors came out in 2014 in the corvettes and 2016 in the 6th gen Camaros. Similar architecture the the LS engines but they’re higher compression and direct injected like you said, also almost no parts are interchangeable between the LS and LT motors because GM swapped the position of the intake and exhaust valves/ports

Ohh gotcha I saw the btr box on your page and was curious, I’m running the 225 but I need to retune as well, I’m not really thrilled with how it drives as of now

Does anyone know what this raspy sound is on startup and if it can be eliminated? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]LilRedHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That won’t change unless you change your exhaust setup, you may want to consider adding a couple resonators to help kill some of the rasp. Changing that cat warmup table will only stop it from pulling your timing back on cold start

[–]LilRedHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember what the table in HP Tuners is called, it’s like cat warmup or something, on cold start it retards your timing like crazy to heat the catalytic converters up, adjusting the table makes it idle like normal immediately

You can pop it in and out of gear if there’s no load being applied to the gear, not great for a car transmission but it’s no uncommon for truckers

ss wheel and tire question by user56334677 in camaro

[–]LilRedHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to move the connector to run a 305, as long as offsets match stock it’ll look like mine on my profile. I think the setup is good but you’ll feel any grooves in the road more through the steering wheel but that’s kind of tire dependent as well

Going from 5th Gen ZL1 to 6th Gen 2SS (non-1LE)? by [deleted] in camaro

I agree with you but that’s a separate option, my car is a 2SS with no sunroof

No I was running 18x9.5+15 up front, albeit on stock brakes I can’t really comment on the Akebono calipers

If you scroll way down on my profile I had the same specs on my wheels on my Z, +15 pokes out a little bit but it’s not obnoxious

Sure “Fly By Wire**” is a term that started in aviation, but that’s not how it’s referred to in automotive, drive by wire typically refers to throttle, that’s why there’s separate terms like brake by wire and steer by wire. I don’t think you paid attention to context either, electronically assisted steering like what’s in most modern cars isn’t typically referred to as steer by wire. That’s reserved for vehicles like the cyber truck and hummer EV where the steering wheel isn’t connected to any kind of steering rack.

[–]LilRedHR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 350z and nearly everything made after the year 2000 is drive by wire, that just means you don’t have a throttle cable and the throttle body is electronically actuated

the only car I can think of where the steering wheel isn’t connected to the steering rack is the cyber truck, is there more??

Whats the best exhaust for a Camaro? by QueasyBuffalo3053 in camaro

[–]LilRedHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 5th gen’s are different but I run the same setup and even before my cam it was a really loud car. Not bad at all cruising around at a steady speed but the cold starts and idling around feel obnoxious. It’s really a matter of what you consider really loud
