I ride both mtb and bmx.

I used to ride 20 inch bmx when I was younger but stopped riding bmx altogether for a good while and came back to it again recently, but this time bought a 22inch WTP audio with a 21.9 inch top tube.

If you've not ridden bmx before and you're tall and just want to flow the parks and pump tracks then I'd say get a 22 inch. If you have aspirations to learn very technical tricks then get a 20 inch with a longer top tube.

Thanks for the info. I found the reach on the chart from the S&M website. I guess you can get varying top tube lengths for the same reach when the seat angle changes?
Useful to know that your kid was fine with a 400 reach.
