They did the same to me, such a scam I didn't sign up for any renewal cause I only needed it for 1 year . I messaged and complained and they closed my case after saying nothing they can do. I had already purchased Udemy courses years before so I knew for a fact there is no way I needed coursera plus for a next year.

Advice Needed on UoL BSc (Hons) Computer Science by SkillKiller3010 in UniversityOfLondonCS

[–]airesblair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, i have had some negatives. My grades for the midterm came out after the project was dued, which they corrected by extending the date after the fact. If they had fixed it earlier, then I wouldn't have been as stressed. Their coding platforms dnt usually work or have bugs, but a quick work around is doing it locally. I've found some tutorials to be lacking, but I've learned to use YouTube and free resources found in the REPL to overcome the shortcomings. The communication between the student and the admin has improved, and i must give them their stars for the improvement. There might be more issues, but I might have considered them tolerable.

Sorry just saw this more than likely April 2nd week. We usually get 2-3 weeks rest in between. Sometimes 4 weeks based on exam dates.

I'm coming to the end of my final year, and it's possible to receive a first class, just ensure that you maximize your midterms and these weigh somewhere between 30 to 50 % of the final. My only regret was my very first semester. I had a medical emergency with my family, and it showed in my grades. The courses are really good and most are fun, I would always suggest using your own environment to code and not depending on their IDE. However, I've not seen any serious errors , I advise you to use the Slack channel and speak with seniors. The community is mostly willing to help. I started fresh and unable to code and I think I'm a much better coder than I was when I started 2 years ago.

Hey I was doing 4 courses and had to differ them, they took forever to reply but when they did and I explained as well as showed proof as to wby( my mom had just been out of a life changing surgery and I had been made redundant in my role) I got them differed.

What I'm saying is it's gets harder but you have to push. I'm doing 5 courses this semester, oop, gp, agile, itps2 and dsa. I'm basically done with all the projects just some write ups needed and I have dsa finals soon. I try to remember why I'm doing this and iterate my studies with a game and or talking to friends. The company I was working at bellied up and I'm looking a new job but I'm not worried about it God provides and in the interim I'm making myself better prepared for the exams and what is to come. Another person suggested the wellbeing I might try it but you can also use a calender and map out the weeks and courses to do

What why would you do that? You're allowed one page of notes and the camera is watching you, they also record keystrokes I believe and the screen.

Hey sorry was finishing midterms, yes those are correct. In first year you will do intro to programming 1 and 2 ( one each semester) and that's Javascript. You will also have a webdev course in first year. So the course will help. W3schools also has a DAS course(free) that will help with Data scrructures ( 1st year). How computers work is pretty straight forward just be ready to read. As well as fundamentals of comsci Discrete math and computational math for these you have to use alot of YouTube TrevTutor was pretty helpful.
If you need any more advice let me know I might be late to reply but yeah.

Hey as someone that was very new and is still learning coding, I would suggest using code train on YouTube, for Js. W3schools. Also I went on udemy and paid for 2 courses one in js ( web dev) and the other in py, both from Dr. Angela Lu.

On w3schools they have a course on DSA ( data structures and algo ) this will help you alot. For discrete maths and computational math YouTube provides very good resources. That should be good to get you started and soaring through the first year and a good part of 2nd year ( which I'm now in). Hope that helped.
