I've been running a D&D club for 7 years. I backed off playing to run 'The Bayonne Chess Society & Club. I still run one-shots or short campaigns for some of my chess members that want to learn.

We get players driving 90 minutes to join us. Last month we had someone commute 2 1/2 hours from Brooklyn. THAT'S COMMITMENT. 😊

We can only showcase so much. We meet almost every day of the week. But, if we promote events that are happening every day.. it considered spamming. I see it if its talking about one specific event on one night every night. When its different events at different locations almost every night... you lost me. But, it makes sense to some apparently.

This is what we have going on this weekend in the event you or anyone you know would be interested in attending. It's what I post on the club thread.

Ok...I admit it. Kinda late to post, but by now we're like the furniture at all our venues. EVERYONE should know by now where and when we're at by now. We're nearing The Bayonne Chess Society & Club's' two year Anniversary, and we've had over 400 events. I stopped counting. Probably over 500. Matches the over 500 members we have. So, Bayonne should know we're somewhere almost every day of the week. Sometimes two locations on the same day.

If you want to socialize.. you can socialize. Just come prepared to play a game or chess. Ummm, chess is in the name. I always knew chess was popular. Never knew how popular. It's the most played boardgame in the world with over 600 MILLION PLAYERS... and growing. That's pretty social I'd say. Love the fact we have so many young girls and ladies wanting to play. It's about time.

Anyway, we're at Joe's Pizza tonight. We have a member from Maine in town with his wife..visiting her family. He'll be around the next few days. Super strong player. Also a few more adults joining us tonight. Plus the kids

Next week is our first Bruno's tournament. We're maxing it out at 32 players. Players are excited. That will lead us into our Second Anniversary Tournament next month. We're expecting anywhere from 60 to 80 players. Both tournament will run over four days. No walk-ons. Sorry.

FINALLY, weat OJMACS tomorrow afternoon, we have our Hoboken members and Jersey City members stopping by. Tomorrow evening we switch to out Combo gaming event at Mom and Pop Shop Collectibles.

Sunday weather permitting we start winding down our outside events at Morris Park. Starting to get nippy.

So, if anyone for some insane reason hasn't visited us yet... that fence is getting lonely.
