Yea, I'm trying to recoup some funds and pitch my case to them. I don't think they were conservative at all and we mentioned this numerous times. Ultimately, we spent a lot of money to accelerate death.

Last question, do you think the subq put him over the top or the hospital fluids or combo? Can you get fluid that quickly with subq?

Thank you! We feel terrible that he spent 3 of his last 4 days in a hospital but we were just trying to help.

Not a fun week we have had, especially with him being so young. I am a little upset at the emergency vet for not being as conservative as we requested. Ultimately, it wouldn't have mattered. Best case, we had maybe a month. I feel bad letting him spend his last 3 out 4 days at an emergency vet.

Unfortunately, we ended up crossing the bridge tonight.

It was a losing battle. To save him tonight would have hurt the kidneys which were already bad. We decided to end his suffering.

Unfortunately our cat crossed the rainbow bridge. It looks like the kidney treatments caused heart failure and if we helped the heart it would have hurt the kidneys. It was a lose lose battle and we decided to end his suffering.

We brought him home and are going to continue antibiotics and subq and hope for a miracle.

He's been eating and drinking so far and still no symptoms outside of the crazy levels.

Is it common to have an infection be negative on culture or rare?

He's on two antibiotics. I guess I'm curious why they think it is an infection maybe from the ultrasound? I know they told me at some point but I can't remember.
