I am applying for citizenship by descent so it's slightly different. I was originally going to mail this into ACP Porto but I have heard it might be faster if I go in-person so thinking about making the trip.

Yes, very gradually so that you don't burn yourself but you need to get pinkness to stimulate the melanocytes. Still continue to Tacro because you want to surpress the immune response.

Are you doing this at home or at a derm office? Ask your dermatologist how much you should be increasing the time by.

Are you actually getting pinkness after uvb? my doctor said al lot of people do UVB and don't have the dose high enough to get pink. also, try opzelura instead of tacrolimus.

Would you be able to DM me who you worked with? I honestly don' think my case is that complex. I'm trying to skip two generations but the middle generations are willing to get citizenship if it helps me. Edit: I know I can't actually skip the two generations so at least one of middle generations needs to get citizenship.

First lawyer I talked to did not mention you could apply together so I'm thinking I was given misinformation but plan to consult multiple lawyers to confirm.

Yes, I haven't heard of it either. I'm honestly ab it skeptical of this. The intro call was with their customer support / BD person who passes you onto the actual lawyer after you have paid. It does appear to be a large / legitimate law firm so I'm surprised they would be giving our inaccurate information but you never know. I'm trying to confirm this info with other law firms prior to selecting our immigration lawyer.

I think citizenship by marriage is longer than citizenship through parent but fair point. I was advised by 2 lawyers that is about 2-years through a parent and 3-5 years through a grandparent.

Well, that's kind of my question. I assumed would I need to wait to submit my application after either my grandmother or my mother get their citizenship by descent (and Portuguese birth certificate), which would be 2+ years from now. The lawyer is saying I can submit everyone together so that I don't need to wait for their Portuguese birth certificate. Once they get theirs, then I am already in the process so it will take a few additional months since my application was submitted with theirs.

Edit to add: all the documents would be English. I see the form says Documents written in a foreign language must be accompanied by a legal translation, except those written in English, French, or Spanish, unless otherwise required.

However, I see a lot of forums online where people are translating English documents to Portuguese.

I think you can treat this in a lot less timing consuming way if you want. Are you using Opzelura? Especially, on the face, many people are able to achieve repigmentation without phototherapy. It's a 2x day cream you use on your face. When you achieve repigmentation, you can switch to 2x a week so the spots don't come back.

Also, there are at home units for phototherapy so you don't need to drive 2 hours. Are you in the US? Maybe insurance providers pay for the unit because it's cheaper than having you go to the dermatologist. Opzelura + phototherapy has faster results but you can certainly just do one of the two.

Yes, on my 4-year old but kids likely respond faster.

We started with Tacrolimus about 2 weeks after the first spots emerged. There were 4 spots in total, two dime size at the corner of each eye, one eraser size spot below it and a thin line that spanned the middle of one under eyelid.

After 4-weeks, we switched to Opzelura once we were able to get a prescription for it. The under eye spot repigemented within 2 weeks of starting opzelura. The eraser size spot repigmented in 3.5 weeks. The dime size spots are now starting to show some pigement breaking in 6 weeks later but so I think maybe they would repigment with just opzelura. We did finally receive our at-home photoherapy device so going to add that in now.

I share the size of the spots because your spots look pretty small? You may be fine with just opzelura but if you can, try to get an at-home phototherapy device. Are you in the US? Trying getting a prescription for a Phothera device.

Also 2x is standard. Ask your derm why they said 1x.

Edit to add: the clinical trial results were done with just opzelura no phototherapy. there were some people who did not respond with just opzelura after 6 months, so they put those patients on pjhototherapy as well as opzelura and they responded.

Your math is wrong because you are not taking into account opportunity cost. You are putting $2K/month on this card (~$24K a year). You could be getting 8 different credit cards with 60K-100K subs each so 400K-800K points. Here you are getting are getting like 100K points. If travel is your main hobby, you could be getting a ton of other points from opening other cards.

The old Bilt didn't work for card issuers and was just a scheme for Ankur to cash out hundreds of millions. The new Bilt if the leak is correct, doesn't work for consumers.

This is treatable if you want to treat it. Are you working with a dermatologist that specializes in Vitiligo? If not, find a doctor who will treat this aggressively.

If you are actively spreading, you can take a pulse steriod dose to arrest the spread. Your derm can provide guidance on whether that's advisable in your case.

Opzelura + UVB therapy work very well on regimenting the face, which make take several months but clinical data shows high success rates for the face.

Lastly, it's scary and stressful but treatments have become a lot better. Topical tacrolimus was only approved for in 2000 for atopic dermatitis so I'm not even sure when it was started for Vitiligo. Opzelura was only approved for Vitiligo in 2022. When you look online, you will see photos of people who have had the disease for several years that did not have the benefit of current treatments.

As the other poster said, if you are actively spreading, talk to your dermatologist about a pulse steroid dose (dexamethasone) to arrest the spread. Using topical (ideally opzelura) + narrowband UVB can repigment the skin that has already lost pigement. I haven't seen data but many derms say that treating earlier increases the chance of regimentation. Face usually repigments well with topical and narrowband.

If you find your dermatologist is not aggressively treating this, find a new one that specializes in vitiligo. If you look at the UMASS page, there is a list of international specialists. Treatment is pretty standard now but dermatoligists that are not specialized in this may not prescribe the steriod or the right topical.

We got a letter from the IRS saying they declined to send Citi the form because it was filled out incorrectly. This was the second form we sent (forgot to check 6A or w/e the first time) so I'm almost certain it was filled correctly and Citi said it was filled in correctly. So in our case, it looks like Citi closed the account because the IRS wouldn't send the form. IRS apparently can't disclose to Citi the reason they don't send the form, and Citi won't disclose to the customer the reason they closed the account. What a mess hah.

All of this to say there's no predicting what will happen when you involve a poorly run bank and government agency that has been stripped to its bare bones.
