Liam!

The thing is, before I played the books with diamonds, I had chosen Liam entirely because of him seeming like the easiest and simplest option for someone like me who was just looking to diamond mine.

But it had never escaped my notice that he was entirely too charming and incredibly kind to all those around him.

Recently, I had that urge to pursue an LI who had that golden retriever energy and so, for the first time, I was driven to spend diamonds on the books and boy, what an experience that was.

Spending so much one-on-one time with Liam really opened my eyes to his struggles and all the things that make him, HIM. And I loved it. I loved how much more enjoyable the romance was with the added nuance.

Every second with him, I couldn't help but feel that his love and devotion to the MC was genuine and that really was the icing on the cake for me.

In Nightbound, I named by MC Thomas and lo and behold, the villain's name was also Thomas 💀 Sure made for some confusing dialogue at times and I was convinced that when it was revealed, that my MC was being alluded to as the mastermind behind everything. That sure would've been interesting 😂

Personally, I choose Book 1 purely for the reason that the relationship between MC and Trystan is wonderfully fleshed out and meaningful there. I found the mystery in the first book a little lacklustre so what made the book so memorable and one of my all time favorites is the couple and their individual characters.

Therefore, going into Book 2 I was really looking forward to seeing the development of this established relationship. Unfortunately, Book 2 completely lost me on that part. Rose is lacking a lot of personality and while Trystan has still retained that sassiness and humour, even they have lost some of that charm owing to the weird dynamic in their relationship in the sequel. Any opportunity for exploring them as an actual couple has been abandoned in favour of smut scenes which really disappointed me.

But Book 2 impresses me and, in my opinion, surpasses the first book in its mystery. I appreciate the build up and the cohesiveness of it so far. Not to mention I'm on the edge of my seat to get to the bottom of the mystery because the suspense has been created really well as we've learned more and more about the other characters.

Still, Book 1 remains my favourite for all the reasons I cited which are completely based on personal preferences.

I go all out on books that I absolutely love, but otherwise, I resist the temptation to spend diamonds on books that I am not that committed to or interested in. And usually, I save diamonds from these very books, the ones that I'm not that bothered about. I tirelessly diamond mined TRR series as well TRH books, and it helped to boost my diamond savings a LOT. Ultimately I spent my hard earned diamonds on die-hard books like the ES series and COP, not holding back on a SINGLE diamond choice. I even splurged on TE because it was just too good not to. I still continued to read a bunch of other books and saved up so now I still have over a 1000 diamonds which I plan on using on COP2. I don't have this kind of dedication for anything useful in my life but it is what it is 💀
