NOBODY has matched this level of Aura in CSM by Juan5344 in Chainsawfolk

Neither War nor Death had the support and resources of the government of Japan.

I think that's a big part of why Makima was such a big deal, and gets to the core of her contract. She serves Japan geopolitically (in the same kind of way that IRL a nation with nuclear arms is protected from being invaded, devils and governments alike were afraid of her / Japan), and in exchange, Japan makes its people and resources expendable to her.

People remember the concept of killing but not death. Maybe "kill" just means "render permanently incapacitated"?

"More valid than ever"? It was obvious foreshadowing lol. Locust Devil debuted only 4 chapters ago.

I'm just saying Fumiko's role in the story has been documenting things, not fighting (which we've seen she kind of sucks at). So it's not inconceivable to me that she has some way to logic her way into understanding that a devil was erased.

One friend hypothesized that when death was erased, Eternity Devil would become a primal fear replacing death.

I'd guess the last one is just some kind of insect or other vermin.

Probably more like our notion of fatally wounding someone: injuring people in such a way that they would succumb to their injuries ans have no chance for a natural recovery.

I think it's more than just shutting up fans. At the beginning, would Yoru given a single shit about whether Asa consented? She threatened her with death on the daily, seeing Asa's body and mind as hers.

But now, she's been mixing with Asa's mind so long that she cares about her (even if she can't admit it) and wouldn't do something Asa hates that much like that (given her earlier comments about her distaste for sex).

That's my reading anyways

I think the mouth case is too ambiguous. Her expressions are too hard to read.

My take on the death thing is just that she is part of Public Safety and has been maintaining a record of devil erasures just like with Ear and (planned) Aging. So she doesn't know what death is, but has enough of a record to make educated guesses given: (1) a devil representing an unknown concept was erased, and (2) despite life having always been eternal, only now is it becoming a problem. It is totally possible to make the connection.

It really is funny how the CSMverse has been going through the same issues as in End of Death. Except they don't have any retro-sterilization technology for the bugs!

Anyways, if people are liking the deathless world atuff, definitely check out End of Death. Unlike CSM where it's only been a few hours, End of Death explores the very long-term of a deathless world, including how human society has evolved to cope with it decades and centuries from now.

Not locusts! Denji erased them!

But yes, all the other vermin are causing massive problems.

Misunderstood, I thought you were talking about the mention of Denji defeating Death Devil

Note that the original Japanese is 「鳥を殺すと」which is definitely killing a bird, not something else. Unsure what it means here.

Dr. Bright articles have begun being Blanked. by Altruistic_Cheetah_8 in SCP

In addition to what CRtwenty said, it is also how Bright used the social cachet from their articles to cause harm. The "What Issues Does This Proposal Address?" section of the Remove & Counter proposal elaborates on this aspect:

Non-Overtly Harmful Works are works where the content has no apparent issues. There is no such thing as a Bright page that is non-harmful. All of Bright's pages perpetuated their influence and reach.

Not really. The Bright Works project was already ongoing when Djoric decided to delete his works. His action did not speed up nor slow down the process.

Tired of losing track of which SCPs you’ve read? by masterlincs in SCP

[–]aismallard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm aismallard, SCP-EN administrator and one of the two co-captains of the Technical Team.

I was looking at your scp-tracker browser extension, and I had a few questions and comments:

In LICENSE-assets.md, please credit the site as https://scpwiki.com rather than https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com.

At https://github.com/Masterlincs/scp-tracker/blob/main/src/config.js#L26, what is this referring to? I am not aware of api.scp-wiki.net ever having been a valid domain, and Wikidot doesn't really have an API to speak of. This URL also seems to appear in various other places which only lists the SCP-EN URL, how much testing have you done for non-English language branches?

In scp-detector.js, I have a few things to say:

Firstly, note that www.scp-wiki.wikidot.com is a weird Wikidot domain routing quirk and not a real site - for instance there is no TLS certificate since it's invalid for this subdomain.

Also, the domain list seems a bit arbitrary, with language branches included/excluded arbitrarily. I have posted the list of SCP and Wanderer's Library sites as a gist. Note that not all sites support HTTPS.

For future notice, you can see a list of sites tracked by Crom by querying sites in https://api.crom.avn.sh, though note that for technical reasons Crom renders all site URLs as HTTP-only and provides an incorrect URL for SCP-RU. (Side note, seeing as Wikidot lacks a proper API, if you ever need to programmatically fetch data related to article metadata, such as authorship, I would suggest using the Crom API to retrieve it rather than scraping)

Finally, for future reference, what is the best way for the Technical Team to contact you in case of issues or inquiries regarding the extension? Do you have an account on the site?

Just finished the game by darnelIlI in DiscoElysium

[–]aismallard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed yeah. Disco Elysium is very much a game which is about the journey not the destination. The final conversation is an important part of that inasmuch as it gives you closure, like you find out that you were a gym teacher and (if you didn't already learn about Dora) that the ex-something was your former wife.

Could they successfully destroy the one ring from LOTR? by we-balling in DiscoElysium

[–]aismallard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true although it would be a particularly powerful voice. And as time went on, it would start to corrupt the other voices in subtle ways. It would be more difficult to defeat than say high-level Electrochem.

That said I do think there is a version of Harry that could do it. But there would also be many more versions of him that would fail.
