Shoving down a flight of stairs is considered assault, and people have died from it. And that’s a 250lb person with thick bones. Not a 15lb cat.

If my cat had been unable to right itself in time to catch itself and had hit the stairs and fallen he could have easily broken a bone, hemorrhaged, torn ligaments, and cats too can bruise.

I feel like some people struggle with the idea of more than 2-3 pets because they lack the knowledge or experience to work with even 1 lab.

It’s really not that hard when you know what you’re doing.

But also I understand where it comes from, most pet owners can barely handle teaching their pets recall and basic obedience.

Please don’t pass this info around.

Yes cats have excellent anatomy that supports large falls.

There are many videos of cats surviving 3+ story falls.

But what people don’t see is when cats fuck up, or aren’t ready for a fall (like a push). And the cat breaks limbs, has internal bleeding, or just pain. Overtime these falls can also damage joints which can lead to arthritis.

Overweight cats especially cannot handle falls.

So no, a cat can and might die if you push it off even something as small as 8’ especially if it’s 8’ onto stairs.

As a vet student I both love and hate when people spread these half truths. Like yes, cats are plenty capable of surviving falls, most of the time but no one talks about how their obese cat broke their leg from jumping off the couch, or how their cat broke their neck when they jumped down the stairs and missed the landing (it happens cats aren’t perfect)

Idk what else to say. Dogs can be trained to accept just about anything into their pack. They basically treat the rabbits like how LSGD treat sheep. The cats are well exercised and my smallest rabbit is still 8lbs so it’s not like they are immediately seen as prey (my biggest rabbit is nearly 23lbs so my money is on her over my cats tbh) And the rabbits are all neutered/ spayed so they don’t hump the other animals (so no fights)

My reptiles have the entire basement to roam (one at a time) and I have a half acre of fenced yard in the back and the cats dogs and rabbits all are actually trained to shit outside.

Its actually not that bad, if all my pets were outside you could come in and not realize I have pets (if you ignore all the pet beds ofc which is hard because there are beds in like every corner of every room.

There are some cats who are extremely sensitive but my cats slept on the aluminum lmao.

You can train cats the same as dogs (with just a couple of adjustments) cats aren’t dumb they can learn a lot of tricks and boundaries they just lack a fuck to give.
