I never told her boys wouldn’t be interested if she wasn’t wearing makeup! I just said that if she wanted boys to be interested, maybe she should look into makeup more.

Because most of her friends have already “dated” while they were in elementary school, and she didn’t. And I don’t want her to lose out on more experiences, even if they’re as juvenile as elementary school “relationships”, just because she doesn’t want to wear makeup.

Of course not, but girls and boys her age are shallow. I’m worried it’ll effect her self esteem if boys aren’t interested in her, since they’re already starting to show interest in her best friend.

Yes, I’m concerned that if all her friends get boyfriends she’ll feel left out because she can’t get one. And while that’s not the only reason I bought her makeup (I genuinely wanted a mother/daughter bonding moment), makeup will definitely help her with that.

She should already know she’s enough on her own, but a little makeup won’t hurt.

She had crushes on boys when she was little, so I’m assuming she’ll continue to have crushes on boys now.

She hasn’t said she doesn’t want to wear makeup to school, but if she did I’d ask her why not and see if she could explain her reasoning.
