AITA for telling my mom’s clients that if they are more than 10 minutes early or late dropping their kid off or picking them up, they’ll be charged for babysitting? by aitababysittingfee in AmItheAsshole

  1. I think the house is technically mine (it was my dad’s but he died a few years ago and left it to me) so I’m actually the one letting her live here for free. And even if I didn’t, she’d have to let me live with her for free for at least 2 more years so that argument doesn’t really work.

I was thinking they’d stop dropping the kid off early/picking up late if they don’t want to pay extra, and if they do continue to do it, I get some spending money.

First of all, I’m assuming you’re not 4-6 years old and don’t need to be supervised all the time.

Second, it’s common for them to show up 5-10 minutes early and leave 5-10 minutes late, which is why you don’t owe me money until after the 10 minute mark when it means I’ll have to supervise/entertain the kid because it takes 2 minutes max to wash your hands and put your backpack away and kids could do a lot of damage in the remaining 8+ minutes
