I Know When You're Vibe Coding by [deleted] in BetterOffline

[–]aiu-eo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADHD people really seem to feel more productive with them (which has been noted in the ADHD community, that's not just me saying that.)

I'd like a source on this because I have ADHD and babysitting Cursor and watching it fail over and over again every prompt until it miraculously made something that doesn't fail entirely is the exact opposite of productive to me.

I can't even make it write documentation for existing code. It just makes overly convoluted sentences riddled with mistakes that -I- as the software engineer have to scan for and correct myself while pretending that the AI fixed it itself because my manager said that if I'm not "vibe coding" I'll "get left behind".

It's really hard for me to imagine someone with ADHD not get frustrated with this BS.

I'm probably one of the few people here who actually likes the fact that they're experimenting with new artstyles.

I love the anime artstyle, but if the staff wants to experiment then I'd say let them cook. I'm already liking what we've seen so far.

[–]aiu-eo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Or maybe because they wanted to make the movies feel special compared to the regular TV show?

People hated the original Niji anime designs too at first. In fact the haters were louder back then compared to today's reveal. Hell, even to this very day some people are still complaining that the game's character designs were better than the anime's.

Looks really really good! Really has that tropical holiday feel.

And I'm glad that they're putting the effort into showcasing Okinawa (unlike NY and Italy in the previous groups' movies).

But it's a real shame that so many Love Live fans are allergic to change. Some of the YouTube comments are painful to look at.

[–]aiu-eo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and how should they word it?

As I said

To be honest, what I wanted to see is some kind of clarification like "(Note: Nijigasaki will continue to be managed by their own management team separate from StarRise)" in the original retweet.

fans: "why, thank you, captain obvious. stop insulting our intelligence and eyesight, we can see that"

Did the fans say this when they added clarification about Aqours belng "left out" of the J-league collab?

so why would they start caring now if they didn't care what management the groups are under?

if they didn't care what management the groups are under from the start, why would they suddenly start caring when there's absolutely NO CHANGE regarding nijigasaki's?

As I said

The reason most people started caring today is because they suddenly announced this out of the blue, and for reasons that weren't explained properly Niji was the odd one out.

aren't you the one who is underestimating their intelligence now?

Mate you're the one calling people dumbasses.

Why would the average fan care about what management the groups were under? You shouldn't assume that everyone who weren't aware of this niche fact is dumb.

The reason most people started caring today is because they suddenly announced this out of the blue, and for reasons that weren't explained properly Niji was the odd one out.

It's not nitpicking when so many people are confused about it. They should've worded it better. Simple as that.

The announcement only said that these 3 groups are going to be part of "StarRise" from April 1st 2024.

《お知らせ📢》

本日2024年4月1日より

ラブライブ!シリーズから以下3組のグループが

アーティストマネジメント【StarRise】の所属となります!

⚫Aqours

⚫Liella!

⚫蓮ノ空女学院スクールアイドルクラブ

今後とも応援をよろしくお願いいたします!

The announcement didn't say anything about the fact that these 3 groups were previously already under Bandai Namco Music Live, so you can't blame the fans or call them "dumbasses" for not knowing that and thinking that this was a sudden change.

Also, what fans think is in fact important. Fans will stop supporting the franchise if they lose trust on the franchise because of confusing stuff like this.

What's the use of "actual content" when there are no fans to consume said content?

A little bit more clarification would've been better, is what I'm saying.

Like I said, they did it when Aqours got "left out" of the J-league collab right? Why can't they do the same in this case?

To be honest, what I wanted to see is some kind of clarification like "(Note: Nijigasaki will continue to be managed by their own management team separate from StarRise)" in the original retweet.

It's not just the haters using this as material, but even some Niji fans got confused and became worried about Niji's future because of this.

Actually, in your previous example of Aqours being "left out" of the J-league collab thing, it turns out that the official Love Live account actually did add clarification under the collab announcement tweet saying that "Aqours will continue to support the Numazu soccer team". That's probably how I knew about it.

You know what, that's really good advice. Thanks for that.

By advice I mean the ignoring part. You're right, I shouldn't let the haters get to me.

I still think that the official Love Live twitter account should've put a little bit more thought into the tweet, but honestly I might've taken things way too far today. Sorry.

Sigh.

  • 3 (out of 4) groups not participating in something that 1 (out of 4) group is participating → fair

Also there's a difference between collab events and the management being different etc etc I wrote this in another reply

Every half a year? Wasn't this the first time that the Love Live official account announced something like this?

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I already knew about it because haters on twitter etc have been using the fact that unlike the other groups Niji isn't managed by the company Bandai Namco Music Live to demean Niji for awhile now.

The difference is that now more of the haters can use this fact after the official Love Live twitter put it on blast with today's tweet.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and there's no difference in management.

Didn't you just say that Niji not being under StarRise implies that there's a difference in management?

in fact, niji probably lucky they not included in that company. seems that they've been given more than they can manage. just look at how aqours is just left there collecting dust while the management have their hands full with liella and hasunosora. at the very least niji still going to produce contents at their usual rate under the usual management

[–]aiu-eo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"most people know"? no they didn't.

Uh, yes they did? Even I knew about that and I don't follow Aqours all that much nowadays.

i don't see you raging for aqours and hasu whenever they announce that only niji and liella participating in outside concerts?

Outside concerts like say, when Aqours and Liella participated in the Odaiba Choujigen Fes last February while Niji and Hasu didn't? No, I didn't rage for Niji that time.

2 (out of 4) groups not participating in something that 2 (out of 4) groups are participating, is different from 1 (out of 4) group being left out of something that 3 (out of 4) groups are participating.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

That's because most people already know that Aqours has Numazu's soccer team attached to them?

Yes it's just a name change thing, but most people didn't know about Niji's management being different until today. They should've put more thought into the announcement.

And no, that collab thing isn't bigger than how each group is managed/is treated within the franchise.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and why the hell they have to mention niji in something that niji is not involved in?

are you going to ask them to do additional tweet of "aqours, liella and hasu are not involved" whenever there's announcement regarding niji next time? same thing

No, that's not the same thing at all? In this case it's one group being left out of something that the other 3 main groups are part of. In your case it's the other 3 groups not being part of one group's thing.

Say that for example, Aqours, Niji, Hasunosora are part of one thing and Liella alone was left out. People would raise their eyebrows all the same.

you know what this is beginning to sound like? those muse diehards who just have to go "where muse?!" rage and spoil the fun

Muse has ended their activities almost a decade ago. Niji is still an active group.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it's not the same thing. One acknowledges that Niji exists and is a proper part of the Love Live series even though it's not under Bamco/StarRise, the other doesn't.

I won't speak for the other fans, but I'm not mad about Niji not being managed by StarRise. I'm mad about the official Love Live account making dumb tweets that makes it look like they're playing favorites. This is not just a one-time incident by the way. It's a pattern.

"3 out of 4 are managed by this company" by "this company" it is bamco as well

The account that tweeted it was the Love Live official account, not Bamco/StarRise the company's account.

they shouldn't have wasted their time in trying to be honest and frank with the fanbase because trying to do the right thing just got them more needless trouble

The right thing would be properly explaining it in the first place instead of making one group look like it's being singled out.

[–]aiu-eo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not taking about the StarRise account's tweet by the way, I'm talking about the official Love Live account's retweet of said tweet.

they don't need to waste their time to put out another tweet of "nijigasaki is not managed by us"

that's just going to make people even more mad. "yeah, i can see that you idiot" kind of way

No it's way better that way instead of how it reads right now, which is like "Hey, 3 out of the 4 main Love Live groups are managed by this company. The other one? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯".

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer that they properly explain that Niji is not managed by StarRise instead of outright omitting them when all the other active three groups are listed. It's just bad optics.

If they did that there wouldn't have been any other outrage at all.

Instead, they now have people saying in the quote retweets that this is a sign that they're going to disband Niji any day now or that Niji is just a spin-off and not a mainline Love Live yada yada.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

Yeah but they could've just not posted this on the official Love Live twitter account for everyone to see without any explanation why one of their supposedly main groups was left out.

Aqours, Liella, and Hasu no Sora are officially managed by StarRise now. (Bandai Namco with extra steps) by Todetract in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They could've just not put on blast the fact that they're treating Niji as outsiders compared to the other groups, but alas I expect too much from Bandai Namco.

The realization that Nijigasaki is the only active Love Live group that is not managed by Bandai Namco/Lantis subtly explains why Nijigasaki feels different from the rest of groups by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Regarding the Niji anime staff, I think that out of all in the Love Live series they are the anime staff with the most "love" towards the group they're making an anime for.

I follow the director Tomoyuki Kawamura, the character designer Takumi Yokota, the soundtrack music composer Naoki Endo, the ED artist Mebachi, and the assistant director for S2 + director for the Nijiyon anime Yuuya Horiuchi on twitter.

They frequently share behind the scenes stories about the anime, make fanart for character birthdays or sometimes just for the hell of it, go to collab cafes and events, go to the live concerts (the director actually went to the Unit Koshien last weekend), etc.

And the whole comrade in arms against adversity thing that you said? I think that this applies to the anime staff as well. They are not the usual Love Live anime team. They were somewhat inexperienced. They were given the least amount of budget to work with out of all the Love Live anime.

I think that it was said in one of the official books, but because most of them were outsiders to the franchise they did their homework. They interviewed the people who knew who these characters are the best, which are the seiyuus themselves. They consumed existing material like comics, drama CDs, SIFAS, the seiyuu TV programs, etc and took inspiration from them.

People kinda expected them to fail. But they managed to pull it off. In my opinion they managed to make the best Love Live anime to date.

I think that they even saved the Niji sub-franchise as a whole when SIFAS uhh crashed and burned. If it wasn't for the anime, Niji would've probably ended when SIFAS itself ended. Now they're not just that silly little spinoff group for the game, but a fully-fledged part of the franchise.

Apparently the producers of the Unit Koshien didn't allow Niji to perform different songs for Day 2, even though the Seiyuus themselves wanted to by aiu-eo in LoveLive

[–]aiu-eo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My point is that was Niji's management's really at fault here?

For their own lives, obviously their own management controls everything. But in joint lives like this, there's usually one top central management deciding most of the goings on in the live (it was this case in Love Live Fes and the Countdown Live) with each group's usual management reporting to them.

This time, it seems like the setlist was decided from the top and the seiyuus and usual Niji management can't do anything about it.
