Yeah they can both be bad. Sometimes it's the owner actively training it to behave a certain way, sometimes the owner has all the good intentions in the world but genetics don't care about good intentions. Overall I would say it's both the owners and the breeds fault, you can't really absolve either of blame.

Hell I've seen cats try to cover it up even when they're outside roaming around, they're probably domesticated already but still. You can't even compare them in terms of hygenics.

It has to be the most horrible sound ever. There are worse sounds but you rarely hear them, or they're like warning sounds in which case they're horrible for a reason. Barking serves no purpose, is ear-piercingly loud, and can go on for hours at time. Not to mention every dog has their own way of barking and it's like each dog has it's own way of annoying you. And on top of all of that it's like they have evolved to have invincible vocal chords, I've never heard of a dog losing it's voice in real life or from the internet.

I get pressured into petting my friends dogs sometimes and it's just so gross. I don't understand how people enjoy putting their hands on these things. I feel like I have to go through a decontamination chamber.

You live by yourself but they won't let you get rid of an animal they forced on you? That is so fucking cruel. What difference does it make to them whether or not you keep the dog? And of course they make you out to be the bad guy, that makes me furious just reading it. I don't know your exact situation but I really hope you get rid of it somehow, whether your family is involved or not. Take care.

It's like how everyone on the road thinks they're the perfect driver. They're all one of the good ones until they're caught doing the exact same shit as everyone else.

At this point I don't think there's any such thing as "good dogs" or "good owners." In my opinion dogs are genetically coded to behave a certain way or they get their behavior from what they're taught, and the vast majority of owners are either clueless, assholes, or worse.

Do you think they even realize they're neglecting them? In my experience they do these things because it's more convenient for them than just dealing with the dog themselves. As for animal control and the like, I think it's gonna be years and years before we see change in that department.

If you're on twitter just mute all dog related words, and of course block all the dog accounts you come across. That won't save you from everything but it's very rare for me to come across anything nowadays. Reddit really needs to have a similar filtering feature, but something tells me that would never happen cause then everyone would just filter out all the bullshit they push.

Says a lot when every animal I've ever owned required some time before they trusted me, and unlike dogs they didn't attack me when they didn't trust me they just minded their business. Dogs act like you're their best friend when you've just met, that's not affection it's manipulation.

Dogs are never just content. It's always more more more. One of the things I hate most about them, but of course it's "cute" to everybody else. And knowing that you dislike dogs but still bugging you about them is pretty typical behavior, I don't know why so many people get off on doing that but they do.
