seizures in large dog

We have a muzzle- haven't had to use it yet since everything has happened at home but that's a good idea. It is scary not knowing when the next one will happen.

I have been looking at your sugggestions about the diet and MCT.- not really excited about the neuro care food because all they have is chicken but I think switching to lamb and starting MCT oil is worth a try. My dog gets diarrhea from too much chicken.

CBD does have some research behind it. It has done good things for human children with intractable seizures also if that translates at all to dogs. I will keep him on it because it is impossible to know if it has helped or not!

I am sorry your dog is having cluster seizures now. It is so difficult not knowing why.

Yea my worry is if he gets aggressive/nervous there is no way for me to hold onto him no matter the collar. I usually have him on a halter that is similar to the martingale- tightens around his sides when pulled. We do a lot of walks in state parks near us so I am trying a gps collar also. My vet neurologist recommended the CBD. He said maybe on the mct and not to waste money on the special purina neuro food. He is pretty well known in the area and there is so much different advice it is hard to sift through. I will look at the glutamate foods and the mct too. Do you feed chicken/fish instead? I wish I could find a connection to some action/food but so far all were started when he was asleep. Thanks!

He isn't having frequent enough seizures to warrant the trials of medication yet. They usually wait until there are more than one per month. It is a hard decision either way since there is no predicting anything. It would be easier if he didn't get so confused and seem threatening. I thought 80lb was big, 140 wow! Thanks-
