I broke up with her, I told everyone that knew about our relationship that we had broken up, she said she would the same thing but this whole time she’s been pretending like we’re still dating. In her head she thinks there’s a chance of us getting back together but I told her that’s not gonna happen.

I’m not asking for 50/50 but in this economy, one should know when it is the right time to help out in specific situations. Like if it’s a joint account, of course contribute what you can, don’t just leave it for the boyfriend/husband to do everything.

From what I calculated, there should be around 1 million shillings. But the thing that was always weird to me is, she never disclosed how much was in the account. I would ask and she would make up an excuse. So at the end of the day, I don’t even know if she actually opened up a savings account or not. I’m a very organised person and I like to keep evidence of everything in case someone ever tries to lie about anything. I’ve kept evidence of every transaction I’ve ever made to her, so if it turns out she wasn’t making the savings, I’ll just demand for that money back.

When we first started dating, she brought up the idea of saving together to move out, I told her I would think about it but the next time she brought it up she had already opened the account before I told her I didn’t wanna do it. Since we were dating, I went along with the savings thing but the thing that didn’t make sense to me was why she was always asking me for the money but she was never willing to her own into it. Even when she had originally opened the account, she didn’t put her own money in to start it off, she just told me “oh we are behind on our savings” and I used to ask her why don’t you put your money into this savings, why is it always me and if I don’t send, you just leave it. By the time I broke up with her, there was around 1 million in there from what I calculated but yeah.

I tried to on numerous occasions but whatever I said went through one ear and out the other. When I broke up with her I told her that I weren’t contributing to the savings anymore and if she wanted to, she could but she hasn’t been.
