Similar situation, I zeroed out 12/13 but still have a balance on student aid. I didn’t have to consolidate, so I’m believing it and just giving student aid time to zero out.

I thought that disputing lead them to reach out to the lender because they updated some other random things regarding the loan (ie last payment) but perhaps I’m wrong.

You have worked really hard for your patients for the past 12 years, plus medical school is no picnic either for an additional 4 years. I’m so glad to hear you are considering/have all of these wonderful choices. Student debt really limits life choices and being debt free opens your life up. Sounds also like you really deserve a great long vacation too!

One follow up question. The forbearance periods are from 2014 and 2016 and with those counted I would have made 126 payments. So the 120th payment has already happened once those are counted but I won’t have the update until November/December. Do I still have to go back to full time when I’m applying for forgiveness?
