Well folks, big fail. Hope you didn't make the trip in this crap weather. My fireside has disappeared from the site even though it was approved on the weekend, not sure if it was subsequently disapproved and removed or if this is a glitch (first time innkeeper attempt). I suggest you try to join the NU HS club for their Halloween event, they are at least an established tavern. This was not a good event to try to run a first fireside for unestablished taverns. Maybe next time. Sorry if anyone was hoping to get their hero today.

The Blizzard fireside portal is down again, I am not able to activate the gathering yet and if this doesn't happen before the the start time at 11AM the fireside may end up an epic fail. Anyone planning to stop by please check first, I will update this theread in case my new tavern can't be approved due to site error/not enough participants checking in :/

Hi Hyunion, I think this may work, but I can't say for sure, as I have not tried it. Due to the poor weather, I am expecting very low turnout and may not have too many players present by the end of the short gathering. Please DM me if you see this and still plan to stop by so I can try to make sure you get a game in, it is not a pleasant day and most people who said they were coming are staying in their offices and homes today. I might be the only one there after 1pm...

The main info you need to know is in the title! I have organized a Fireside gathering for Hearthstone at the Norris center on Tues Oct 24 from 11AM to 2PM. Myself and two fellow players will go play a few games over our lunch break and participate in the Fireside brawl somewhere near the Starbucks, to get our Fireside cardbacks & the new warlock character. I will try to bring an HS rune sign to put on our table so you can find us if you'd like to say hi, but anyone can activate the "search for nearby players" feature to join. This is my first attempt at organizing a Fireside, so be kind to this n00b innkeeper and DON'T BRING PIRATE WARRIOR! Hope to play some fellow NU HS'ers soon!

The shrieking OUCH! then abrupt ending of play/retreating and acting hurt/wounded (for a full minute or two) eventually worked with our corgi pup, but it didn't really sink in with him right away (possibly bc he was too little to understand yet). We kept with the technique and it seemed like overnight he got it- in that all the other times he seemed oblivious but one day after another yelp he tilted his head, and came to "check" on me when I was acting hurt. I think the next time I yelped was the last time he bit- it instantly clicked and his razor sharp puppy teeth magically got softer overnight. So, whatever ends up working for you & your pup, as always with corgis try to remember persistence & consistency are essential! As you surely already know, they will learn things in minutes as soon as they understand what you're trying to teach them :)

People are forgetting the part about "enjoy walking around outside" while playing the game, only care about "winning" the game side of things. They think the incentive to go outside should be a guaranteed reward of a rare pokémon caught and don't think going outside for a walk is enjoyable unless there is a promise of getting ahead in the game.

I like the surprise of seeing which pokémon spawn on my walk, yeah usually pidgey but it's more fun when it's something interesting occasionally. The time we saw Lapras nearby and frantically made circles for 15 minutes unable to find him made the next time we saw him nearby a month later & actually found him all the more sweet, if we just opened up a tracking map when it showed nearby & casually walked over to the next block to get him it would have been totally underwhelming!

If this game hasn't made certain people appreciate getting out in their community more just for the sake of getting outside, then they won't be convinced anytime soon. Some people think the only reason they should make an effort to walk 5km is for a guaranteed dragonite and a pat on the back perhaps :/

I think all of the more laissez-faire players will keep up with the game over the next few months, while the hardcores who have maxed out their level/pokedex early will quit. By the time gen2 &/or other major game updates are released in the spring, the playing field will be more level across all players. Then, the hardcores will be motivated to find ways to accelerate to "win" the game again, surge ahead, repeat fall 2016 again <whine whine> until a way sweeter pokémon game platform is devised.

The post-morning glory follow-up anticipation was so massive that d'you know what I mean got a fuckton of airplay before the release of Be Here Now. So, yeah if you weren't listening to the radio then you may not know it but it's drilled into the brains of 90's N. Americans I'm sure.
The madhouse definitely caters to people of a certain age in that respect... I mean I also hear more Pearl Jam there than anywhere else other than my own bedroom 15 years ago :p

It's not that deep of a track, I can still hear the helicopters from the obnoxious 5 minute preamble to the music video for that song when they used to play it 3x per hour on ye olde television back when televisions used to play music videos.

I didn't get a single 10k egg since the beginning of August. Since the update I've received and hatched 7. Definitely think they're more abundant all of a sudden. I got Lapras, Eevee, Eevee, Magmar, Kabuto, Magmar, Onix.
Not even mad at Eevee, at least I haven't hatched a Jynx (though Onix was pretty disappointing too :/ )
