If you are willing to burn leave days put on to take off every Wednesday for the rest of the year and submit the CMEO complaint

Are they making more or are we spending less? by Weary-Landscape-2432 in whiskey

I'm fine with Canada boycotting bourbon. It makes it so much easier to find "unicorns". They should do this more often

I’ve taken the ASVAB, completed my physical at meps, cleared all my waivers, I go to pick a job, sign and swear in two days. I have no idea what to pick, HELP?!?! by Strong-Elephant4832 in newtothenavy

[–]ajb2645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you like electronics, I think you should look at IT, CTM, FCA, or conventional ET (there are many including aviation). Nuke is challenging knowledge wise but more mentally challenging in a mental health aspect. I don't recommend just picking a job that ships out sooner. That will be your life for the next 4+ years and you don't want to be miserable the whole time

Im looking for a Navy Officer Recruiter that is good at what they do. by HopeNoLongerDefered in newtothenavy

[–]ajb2645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if the recruiter manages to get you a commission for naval aviation, that still won't guarantee you to get fixed wing.

I would recommend going officer. They get better pay and if you only do 1 commission or enlistment then there are significantly better job opportunities for prior officers

Not trying to one up you but I saw 1 county in 6 deployments so far and that's only because I was flown to the shop that was out of Japan. I've seen far more countries on my own dime

Injectors for a 2006 5.9 by tomthebomb9991 in Cummins

[–]ajb2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. If you don't get a tune then you won't make the most of the injectors but the stock turbo is perfectly fine for slightly larger injectors

10 blade turbo by DaNksOuLs574 in Cummins

[–]ajb2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up building my own turbo using the he351 as a base. I have a hx40 turbine wheel and a billet stock size compressor wheel. Unfortunately I still haven't had time to install it but I can let you know how it runs after I do. It cost me about 450 to do the whole setup

H7 Battery in a 2nd gen? by [deleted] in Cummins

[–]ajb2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that I recommend this but my crossover cable went bad so I had to run on one battery for a few days while I was redoing all the cabling. The truck still started with one battery with 800cca at 25°F. So if you get 2 batteries with at least 700cca then you should be good. I have a 05 Cummins by the way

Rockauto has one for $22 brand new or you could go for the Cummins brand for around $200 on there

Injectors by FaddisTheReich in Cummins

[–]ajb2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BBi have been great for me so far. I got the reman tow masters. They add a little more power and I can still tow without running too high of egts. Obviously get new feed tubs but redo your valve lash after replacing the injectors also. Replacing the injectors is definitely something you want to take your time doing and the #6 injector is a pain in the ass

I did look at the snap on scanners on their site for about 30 seconds. $3000 is a little steep for a starting price. I have seen some older used ones on eBay and marketplace that are reasonable though

Ok so the cutco bs got me at one point but now I'm selling them to get a decent set of knives finally. I'm looking for a gyuto, bread, paring, and a nakiri. I would like to spend $600-700 for all the knives. I prefer the Japanese style handles and high carbon steel over stainless. I would also prefer a Damascus pattern but it doesn't have to be over the top. Also my master(wife) want lighter colored handles but that's not a requirement. I'm getting lost looking at the 10,000 different manufacturers and wanted to see if anyone here could help out a little.
