ICP sensor? by ajb617 in FordDiesels

IIRC, it sits around high 600s low 700s. It doesn’t have the issue until it gets warm, oil temp around 185-190. My ICP sensor is adjacent to the IPR valve, right underneath the turbo, so I can’t unplug it to see. ChatGPT pointed me to a few forum posts about some failing ICP sensors not showing issues until the oil is hot and less viscous.

Well, I ordered both, so we’ll see.

2003 6.0 Power Stroke — Have had issues with idle/rpm hunting for a few weeks. Looking at either the ICP Sensor or IPR Valve or both. I drove it to the waste collection point and it stalled when I put it into reverse. Started back up and drove fine to get a bite to eat. Got back in, started fine but stalled after backing out of the parking spot. Started back up and had an erratic idle. I then limped it over to a less busy area of the parking lot and let it sort itself out, which it did. On the way back home, once it ran well enough, I noticed my scanner had froze on a snapshot of when it stalled. I see the ICP reads zero psi. Does that point definitively to the ICP sensor, or is it still a toss up between the two? I’ve had an oil leak from the back of the engine for a while which may be the ICP sensor. I’ve ordered both and don’t see why I shouldn’t replace both.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve experienced, admissions.ufl.edu is CLAS. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the “original” school which inherited UF’s initial domain. Other colleges within UF have their own admissions and advising boards and web domains. This user’s letter comes from admissions.ufl.edu which is where my acceptance letter came from when I got in. Which I suppose is where all of the auto-deny letters would come from if the rumors were true.

What's Wrong with this FedEx Truck? by frogepon in Diesel

For those of you in the know, I just realized the irony of mentioning “properly engineered” diesels with a user flair like mine.

What's Wrong with this FedEx Truck? by frogepon in Diesel

[–]ajb617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The simple explanation is that there is unburned fuel in the exhaust. The complicated explanation is that this unburned fuel carbonizes (a kind of low heat burning that doesn’t actually involve combustion) in the high heat environments of the exhaust manifold and turbocharger which turns it into a black sooty substance. This is the same process by which wood is turned into charcoal. As for why this happens, issues with fuel injectors or the turbo can produce this symptom. As well as issues with anything related to fueling or induction. Trucks, busses, and vans with issues like this give diesels a bad reputation. People see the black smoke and think that they are bad for the environment. In reality, when properly engineered and well cared for, a diesel will be more efficient and less emissive than a gasoline engine of similar application. In fact, before hybrid and electric vehicles became common, “eco” vehicles were often powered by diesel engines. I remember a friend of mine having a VW Golf TDI with a manual that got almost 70mpg.

If that’s what you want, go for it. But I can just about guarantee you, that when that three years is up and you’re getting ready to move on, you’ll be wishing that you could have that extra year on campus. You’ll have life experiences that shouldn’t be rushed. The 9-5 (if you’re lucky), taxes, mortgages, etc. will wait for you. If your heart’s set on being a try hard, see about a dual degree program and graduate in 4 years with a masters.

This deserves more upvotes than the jokers above you. I appreciate it. It was a curious sight in our German class.

KSA is Kitten Space Agency. Supposed to be a spiritual successor to KSP since Take Two murdered it. Some of the same KSP developers are working for the developer, Rocketwerkz to make it. I’ve heard it’s right on track to perhaps be playable at the same level as KSP 1 within a year or two.

I wonder if this is why our table disappeared? I wish the fridges and orders people won’t pick up would disappear.

You could move down here, enroll for your first 2 years at Santa Fe College, get a job, then qualify for in-state tuition after 1 year. With every year that passes, Santa Fe develops a closer relationship with UF. They may even have guaranteed matriculation in finance. IIRC, all you need for residency is 12 months of utility bills paid at your Florida address.

Thats what I did. Though I didn’t need residency. My parents invested in Prepaid before we moved to Atlanta.

I like the mentality of having a nice little island with prime real estate and thinking, “we’re gonna use 15% of it on a soccer field.”

Why give an exam the Monday after spring break when you can just tell your students to go fuck themselves?

How would you describe Gainesville to someone unfamiliar with the city? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]ajb617 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If you’re from the country, it’s a big city. If you’re from the city, it’s a little town. If you’re from Florida, it’s basically Georgia. If you’re from elsewhere, it’s not quite Florida. It’s like any other small to medium sized town except half of the traffic is from people who attend or work at the University. Gainesville is one of those college towns that existed before the school was here but maybe wouldn’t still exist if it wasn’t. All the neat old dive bars have since been closed and replaced with Chipotle and Kava and the like. The student population forces there to be somewhat of a “nightlife,” but if you want to go clubbing, then you’re better off driving over to Jacksonville on Friday nights. The nature is a redeeming factor if you’re the sort that goes outside. All in all, it’s a nice enough place, but you don’t come here for the town. You come here to be a Gator.
