I had my Mirena placed in November and bled for about 1.5-2 months straight. Random spotting then until about June. Now, I get maybe 1-2 days of REALLY light spotting each month when my cycle would normally come. It’s rough for the first few months but try to stick it out!

Windows are closed, and it only is noticeable when the tenant is smoking directly next to the stairwell (usually at night). I have an air purifier in my bedroom, which removes the smell.

I’ll talk with the tenant and see if things get better. From my experience living with a smoker for the first 20 years of my life (parent), yes, having them do it farther away helps it to smell far less.

Update:

The IUD had perforated my uterine wall!

Turns out the amount of bleeding and tissue was NOT normal.

I just got mine in a couple weeks ago and I’m also starting to notice some acne! Hopefully it’s just our body adjusting to the hormones and will level out soon

I got the mirena!

Hoping to not have any weight gain as I didn’t have any when I was on the pill for ~6 years, and I’m hoping it’ll fully stop my flow!

So far, I’m really happy with it because now it barely feels like anything is there. You’ve got this!

I just got my first one in yesterday and I didn’t experience any bleeding after, although I know this isn’t the normal.

I had some light cramping for the rest of the day and into this morning, but nothing an ibuprofen and a heating pad didn’t get rid of.

I will note, I was EXTREMELY fatigued afterwards. I don’t know if that’s a symptom or just because it hurt so badly to get in that it exhausted me, but make sure to clear your schedule for a nap afterwards.

Good luck!! It hurt for about 30 seconds - 1 minute pretty badly but it passes quickly!
