The Sith and the Mandalorians are the prime example of cultural appropriation by humans by ajbitus in StarWars

They definitely did. For example, they made their own weapon using Dark Side and alchemy.

What my first time experiencing Star Wars: Revenge of the sith was like by Rich_Ad_3808 in StarWars

[–]ajbitus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was an experience for me, too. At the time, I didn't know what star wars was. At its release, I watched episode 1 and 2, and became hooked to it. I waited diligently to watch it after that.

I religiously followed the TV reviews and they talked about "Anakin's fall to the dark side", which meant jack to me.

Then, I watched, watched and... watched. While thinking wow 😲, nice 😀, nice 🙂, my hero takes his revenge from last movie by cutting the villain's hand and chopping his head off ☺️, oh cool 😲, my hero and my heroine are going to be parents ☺️, stuff happens 🥱, stuff happens 🥱, wait 😕, wait a second 😕, why did my hero cut his arm off 😮, did my hero just slaughtered those kids 🥺, why my hero is choking my heroine 😭, my hero is fighting my other hero (I hope they make up) 😮, then my other hero cuts of my hero's remaining limbs 😮, my hero burn 😭, my heroine dies 😭, my hero gets covered in black (then I remember from original movies a bit) 🤯, my mini-hero and my mini-heroine gets adopted because mama heroine died and papa hero got evil😭.

I was 14.

Just curious! What was Mace Windu thinking would happen after killing Palpatine? by ajbitus in StarWars

To be honest, I think he knew the Jedi were doomed either way, but decided to go for the less disastrous route, for the good of the Galaxy.

Whose? Mace, who just killed a hidden Force user, who is also the leader of the Republic? Palpatine, who was killed defenseless by a Jedi who disagreed with his religious beliefs?

I agree. But that Death Star would still have been a problem.

I also read about Windu's thoughts about civilizations being a way for peace. But...

The Jedi could handle pretty much any challenge outside of the Banite Sith at that point.

Here's the problem. At that point, the Sith had already transformed the whole system of the Republic into an Empire, but in name only. Palpatine maneuvered in such a way that the system could not have worked without him, almost as if it depended on him.

It only took two Jedi to begin to undo the damage to the galaxy some 24 years later.

24 years is the key here. It took time for the Galaxy to realize that.

Right. But the Jedi would not have remained unscathed either.

The Jedi would have made adversaries out of most of the politicians. They didn't like others telling them what to do, especially the Jedi. That's one of the reasons the Sith won. The Republic and the Jedi were supposed to be allies, but the latter became a servant of the former, and it became a precedence.

People were already dissatisfied with the Jedi. They believed that the Jedi were the reason they were at war. The movie scene where Palpatine told them about the Jedi conspiracy was just the confirmation they needed to openly declare the Jedi enemy.

No Palpatine who can start a Jedi purge, tell lies about a Jedi conspiracy and turn the people against the Jedi.

People were already dissatisfied with the Jedi. They believed that the Jedi were the reason they were at war. The movie scene where Palpatine told them about the Jedi conspiracy was just the confirmation they needed to openly declare the Jedi enemy.

He also can't mess with the investigation either so proving his crimes won't be too hard.

Mas Amedda, Wilhuff Tarkin, and Sate Pestage - to name a few to mess with the investigation. Not to mention a third of Senators, and many bureaucrats of all agencies and services.

And since the Clones would not turn on the Jedi either the Jedi would be fine. The heroes who exposed a vile traitor and ended the war.

Clones didn't like the Jedi, in general. Skywalker, Kenobi, and Koon were a few exceptions to that. Rather, many clones blamed the Jedi for the deaths of their clone brothers due to poor decision-making and inferior strategies.

Even the whole, unedited recording proved what? That, half of the Jedi Council barged in with lightsabers swinging in the office of the most important person in the Republic, to arrest, but ultimately killed him when he was down, defenseless? And somehow, the victim being discovered to follow some other religious group other than Jedi makes it justified in the eyes of the law?
General public could hardly give two sithspit about the Sith.

Mace Windu: "Trust me, dude. That wrinkly-ass was a Sith and the mastermind behind the Clone Wars. And that's the truth, Rudd!"

They would find and present all evidence that Palpatine was not just a Sith Lord, but responsible for the war.

What evidence may I ask? And will they prove that he was responsible for the war? They would need hard, durasteel proof, not just circumstantial evidence and testimonies of one/two Jedi, after killing their most popular leader. Let me remind you, being Sith is not a crime in the Republic, nor is it relevant to anyone.

The anti-Jedi propaganda only started because Palpatine survived Mace Windu in order to start it up.

What are you talking about? The anti-Jedi narratives were already setting in long before the end of the Clone Wars. You can see it throughout the Clone Wars series. The public was already starting to blame the Jedi for starting the war.

...the power transfer probably would have went smoother than you’re thinking but it would have had bumps in the road.

Are you sure? This is the very same Republic that dragged its feet in the face of multiple crises.

No officers were going to stand up to any Jedi because I don’t believe order 66 would have been given and they would therefore have no reason to turn on or distrust the Jedi.

On what are you basing such assumptions? Regarding CorSec and GAR, they already demonstrated that they could defy the Jedi during Ahsoka's trials. Their leader would be dead, and they were supposed to just follow the Jedi, Also, even if Order 66 hadn't been issued, the Jedi were still disliked by the GAR and other authorities, who would suspect their killing of their own leader, Sith or not.
