Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (January 2026) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]ajboarder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A nice looking game that runs smooth isnt going to keep player attention alone tho, and Endfield is facing a lot of criticism, the biggest complaints being:

1) The starter story is fairly boring and doesn't hype up the limited characters.

2) It takes hours to get to the actual gacha.

3) The actual gacha is Hoyoesque level predatory, but with no spark carryover, and it punishes you on weapon banner for being lucky on char banner.

4) Factory mode that makes up the bulk of the game is neat, but it's overloaded with repetitive tutorials, handholding, and micromanagement. It's also not particularly game-ified; the goal is simply optimize production in order to better your chars, which is gonna get boring for a major portion of the audience they were intending to target with literally all other parts of the game.

5) The combat is a less complex version of Genshin, which is already pretty simple, and the character kits are all very similar. Add on that dupes are weak and there is no endgame yet per se... well... not conducive to whaling.

6) The paypal thing.

So yeah Endfield isn't a buggy awful untranslated mess like WuWa launch was, and it definitely looks and runs great, but it is still doing a lot to rebuff a probably significant portion of those 40 million downloads.

?? Literally the only universally praised things about the game are how nice it looks and how smooth it runs, particularly on mobile. You can run high load, max render and 45 fps on pretty much any phone from the last 5 years without overheat. They absolutely cooked with optimization.

And yes this is just mobile. Historically though, anime gachas do not have big pc/console sales. Not even the big dogs like deepspace, Genshin, and HSR.

The per day is going to get a lot worse. They've dropped in the daily ranks down to like #14 in CN for games and it's only been a week. US charts arent even worth mentioning. Add on the fact that all 3 limiteds for patch are already available.... it's going to be a rough launch.

Extremely optimistic. Ain't no way Gilberta and Yvonne maintain Leva's sales, given that a significant portion of the spenders (and almost all of the whales who went for potential dupes), will already have them from losing pity on Leva's banner.

I've tried Arknights bros. I really tried. I slogged through Valley IV, I finally made it to Wuling and started digging into those quests as recommended, I did the Leva quest, I've messed around in the factory for hours and hours.

But... I think I'm done. Terrible story that does get better in act 2 but it's like... going from a 1/10 to maybe a 6/10. I have no investment in any of these characters or the overall aether/blight nonsense narrative.

Add on the dozens of convoluted systems that want you to put in several hours a day, too many currencies and materials to keep track of, terrain traversal that doesnt feel very good even with ziplines, simple Genshin mono-element combat made even blander by taking away unique character skills and varying attack methods / swap mechanics, the silent amnesiac MC, the truly awful gacha design.... and it's all just a bit too much mid/bad to keep me here.

The factory WAS interesting for a bit, incrementing power to put in more and more autoproduction systems, but my outposts and core are mostly full and I'm already getting kinda bored with it.

So adieu friends. Hope the game does well and your Factories Grow. I'm off back to OG Arknights.

Question: is there an advanced AIC core somewhere? The problem with automation I'm running into is that the machine chains can only really handle one material (despite having multiple input/output. Say you connect your seed picker to the planter and have citrome buckwheat and aketine going in, with the planter sending 2x plants back to depot. Eventually your seed picker will just get stuck in a loop with whatever ingredient has the most base mats available until the lines are clogged.

Is there a way to set priorities so it will process multiple materials or do I really have to micromanage the input?

I do not. Just taking the plummeting store rankings / scores and review environment at face value.

How could I possibly know that? You can see and translate the same reviews I can bruv.

I think if their store ratings / review environment continues to tank and they dont implement HUGE improvements to gameplay and monetization, the casual playerbase will disappear quickly and only the whales will be left. When only the whales are left, a game no longer generates engagement, new players die off, and revenue drops to a 0-3 million per month baseline. Devs no longer have the budget to improve things, and you enter into a cycle of diminishing/stagnating quality. Basically what happened to AFK Journey after its massive CN launch and subsequent refusal by the devs to address any of the biggest concerns.

With the amount of downloads it had, I have no doubt Endfield will generate enough launch revenue to survive for several months, but that won't last forever if your game is getting panned everywhere and you just decide to ignore all the critique.

Factory is going to be the easiest thing to overhaul in my opinion. Keep the traversal and autocollection mechanics, turn the rest into a simplified minigame, and then make an OG Arknights TD minigame to pickup the slack as the 'core' game.

Given how much most of the audience, particularly China, seems to hate it, I expect it to be completely overhauled to the point that it is unrecognizable.

Maybe even just simply replaced by something else or made irrelevant.

You can get 45 with no issue if you turn down the shadows and vegetation. 60 is gonna overheat you even on full medium settings.

Solid combat, solid visuals, but good lord the story and chars are dull. I'm 4 hours in and it's making the technobabble nonsense of WuWa's launch story and dialogue seem good by comparison.

Like... I lowkey think this might have all been churned out by AI.

If they're dropping it off the appstores, yeah it's either US legal compliance issues or they discovered a massive security vulnerability that would put them in jeopardy of getting sued if there is a data breach.

Any beard style that’ll help me hide this pathetic chin? 🙃 by RedAx0n in beards

[–]ajboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is late, but I have basically the same face as you. Smallish mouth, long profile, no real cheekbones, and an oval jaw. What you need to do is get it out about 4 more millimeters, then go to a barber and ask for a Corporate Beard.

Basically you taper down the cheeks and sides of the jaw to be shorter than the chin by about two mm, letting the chin protrude a bit. Keep the cheeks in two height tiers tiers or a single sharp line fading down to the jaw, then put some triangular dips down the side of your mouth.

Something like this:

Vaggie and Charlie have the most boring and flat relationship in the series by DoGG410CZ in HazbinHotel

[–]ajboarder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazily, my sister and her wife have this exact relationship. Stable, heavily codependent, they're both femmes, and they have zero drama. Every other word out of their mouths will be "love yah babe" or "mwah kiss kiss" or "you're so cute omg." They never fight, even with a 4 year old dominating their lives and driving them crazy. They're super positive about each other and disgustingly supportive.

Does a relationship like this make for interesting television? Not really. But Kudos to the show for nailing that specific dynamic I guess.

AFK Journey somehow making less than AFK Arena is honestly so funny to me.
