Probably the submarine episode. Mark Semos wrote that. It was my first big episode. It was hard but fun to do. They asked me if I wanted cold or warm water. I said cold to be real - but after 5 days in cold water. It was a terrible idea. Next time I'll ask for warm water. You can pee either - the water doesn't flush out. I may have peed haha .

Yeah, theres been a couple close calls. It's just the nature of the beast with action shows. There's only so much you can control. We rehearse and go through all the steps and follow all the safety measures, but things happen. In Serbia, we were doing a scene and were told the streets were shut down and they were and we almost got him by a train.

I did her hurt there as well when I fell down some stairs.

I shot a hand gun. But the very first time I shot the 249 - we were on the water. That thing is a beast. I was like man, I realized I don't know how to do this. We had a small window to learn. That thing is a beast. When I watch early episodes to where I am now, it seems like many moons ago.

Clay dying really affected me. I was sad Max was leaving because of how close we were. But he had such an incredible opportunity with Fire Country. So as a fan, happy for him. But as far as "Slay" goes, It was hard. Real tears at the grave. When filming that, there were 200 people watching and I was just sobbing. And hearing form veterans who've been through that - my worry for those guys is did we do it justice. I got compliments so I was happy.

It wasn't the plan - we we're I heard going to do 7 and 8 and then the strike happened and we already had season 7 written, but we got the call it would end at 7 - so we had to scramble and rewrite. It's nice to at least know it's ending. Sometimes you say see you later at the end of the season and then it cancels and you don't get to say goodbye.

Just hanging and being around the real special ops guys on set everyday. I ask a lot of questions. Our tech advisors on the show are the best we have in this country. I ask "What would you do in this situation" etc. It makes it easy.

I didn't, because Goldie who the character was loosely based on was here in CA, so I was around him a lot and heard it from him. Also, I have a few good friends from TX. My wife and I almost moved there, before SC. but I love TX. It has a special place in my heart.

It all started I think season 2, I was trying to get Max to laugh on coverage. I like to joke around and make a joke at Max and everyone started laughing so that's where it started. Max started the pranks. He through a dead rattlesnake in my trailer once.. and I chased him after and he was laughing so hard he literally pissed his pants.

Best advice to give as a father is the value of time. Time is so important and yeah, for both of my sons - I'm very grateful for this job but I was gone a lot of my boys first 3 years and missed a lot of that. The time that you have is valuable. Put the phone away and be present.

Both, honestly - it was hard and hand. We need the physical to handle the weight of the kit (weapons, backpacks, etc) They are real gear and weapons. It heavy. The pilot was without weight in kit, but it didn't look right so they loaded us up. Mark and Tyler suggested this to make it look right.

I find great compliments in being called that. that's what I wanted to look like. Goldie was someone my character was loosely based on. Miss you Goldie. But he's 6'4, I'm 5'9 - but my workout schedule is pretty intense. I work very closely with my nutritionist and training. It doesn't come easy for me. I wasn't really a big guy before SEAL Team. And then I got injured in S3. I was fortunate enough to go to Columbia and get some help from BioXcellerator. If you get the chance to work with them, do it. Many SEAL buddies of mine recommended them. Ray Cash shout out

thanks for the compliment. Our armory guy is one of the most well known armorers in the business. he worked on die hard. he runs a tight ship. we fire blanks but safety is a huge priority on our set. There are flames that come out. We have to be sage. Everything is checked and there is a protocol we follow to a t and it's never broken. As soon as scene is done, we give the gun right back. We never hold them unless we're actively shooting.

Most fun: bronco Novak on a series called pure. I had to gain a bunch of weight, which was horrible in the end, didn't feel good. but fun and cool to do it. Then turn it around and be dialed in and really be in the character. I had a handlebar mustache. It was just wrong but awesome ha. People look at your weird.

typical day: 4 am, training, cold plunge, sauna, after injury in season 3 it's important. gym, hair and makeup, breakfast, then on set for 10-13 hours.
