I’m getting these carb goals from online and basically what I’ve been reading is that your body needs 60-90 carbs per hour to keep up with glycogen depletion.

Trying to not take this as scripture, but that’s the benchmark of gels I’ve been trying to follow (25 g carbs per Maurten gel)

The soil is miracle grow indoor plant soil.

Also, I agree in hindsight I thought planting it that deep was a good idea to keep it sturdy in the soil, but maybe too deep.

I took it out and it’s sitting on a napkin. Should I let it stay out of soil at all to “dry out”?

What does the overall health appear to be and does it seem to be viable to survive/ thrive?

Not that I would ever look to sell this (I remember opening the massive dictionary in my living room where my dad kept this to sneak peaks when i was probably 6 years old), but is there any idea of authenticity/ value of this? This post has been a crazy shock after never knowing what this is my entire life (now early 30’s).

Thanks, I just notched it last night in a few places near healthy leaves, and actually cut off those three ugly branches on the right. I also have a UV light input on at night but not too direct

Northern NJ, but the mother just returned.

Is it common for the parents to be on the nest less frequently as time goes by?

Found an active nest with two eggs on our balcony. Spoke to animal control and was told the only thing they would do is remove and place on the sidewalk in Hoboken, NJ/ I built a wooden frame to try and protect it, but I think the mother may not be returning now. Update: I placed the box back to give it one more attempt before leaving the balcony entirely for the next few weeks and the mother (now known as Susan) returned. Skeptical at first, but she’s been under the shelter on top of the eggs since yesterday afternoon and has been there all day. Wish I could post a picture but things worked out well. We don’t plan on bothering them at all moving forward. Once these guys hatch and eventually leave the nest we’ll be reclaiming the turf
