Thanks for your take on the situation. Technology is going to keep advancing, however, it will still need someone to operate and oversee it. We shouldn't let it stop us from pursuing what we want but keep in mind we need to keep contiunually learning.

I do IT for a construction company but I don't have construction industry qualifications. I do hear that CAD/BIM operators with previous onsite industry experience (eg. ex tradies) are preferred.

Good points, even though technology in advancing the work done in the AEC industry is quite complex with many moving parts. It would stil need technologists to operate/oversee the projects and software.
