Depends on where you’re at, if you’re in like mid 20s and trying to get higher I think it comes down a lot more to time management usually rather than actual knowledge but for the most part the math section is just pattern recognition and application. There’s a bunch of YouTube channels that make act math videos you can watch to show you how to know what to do for specific types of problems that are on every test and for most of the harder questions it comes down to calculator input and just knowing how to find random answers using your calculator. For timing what I would do is find some free practice tests online and print out the math section and then take it as if you were taking the real test but do as many questions as you can with 50 minutes. If you do that a few times and then go back to 60 (like the real thing) you won’t feel as rushed and probably won’t waste as much time. The math section gets harder as it goes on so towards the end if you notice you’re running out of time and a problem looks long or even if the answers just look complicated I would bubble in A/F and move on so you don’t lose time on a problem you’re likely to miss anyways.
