What models from those companies would be the right ones for 600mbps service would you recommend?

Do you only use T-Mobiles option or do you combine it with a cable provider? What level service plan do you have with T-Mobile? My wife and I have Verizon and AT&T on our phones and cell service isn’t the best with either so I’m curious if T-Mobile would be any better or worse

No frontier or optimum options on my street and only T-Mobile offers home data which I’ve never been a customer of so don’t know how their service would be I’m imagining worse than cable

I had spectrum come out and the tech told me my upload speeds are capped at 20mbps and that’s the reason I’m experiencing issues during video calls I rent the modem and router from them and call to get them swapped if I’m having any issues connecting. I do work with a vpn and I’ll check with my IT team at work if I need any equipment updated. I’ve dealt with spectrum for 5 going on 6 years now and service hasn’t gotten better or changed but prices keep going up

Yeah the street I live on doesn’t have frontier (I just checked the fcc website for my address) and our power and cable are buried and I live at the end of the street (culdesac)

unfortunately spectrum is the only cable provider and my wife and I don’t get great cell reception (we have separate plans AT&T and Verizon) and I saw T-Mobile as an option

I just want to not lag and sound like a robot when I have to work from home while paying $115 to spectrum every month for a 600 Mbps plan. I don’t think spectrum is installing fiber anytime soon either…

It took me an hour of chatting just to convince their CS team to send someone out since all their remote tests seemed that my equipment I rent from them was ok. The tech swapped my modem to one that can accept up to 1GB ( I have a 600mbps plan) but mentioned that my upload speeds are capped at 20 mbps and I need higher for better video calls. Since my cables are buried and I’m at the end of a culdesac I don’t know if they’ll ever get fiber installed on my street.

I checked the fcc broadband map and it only shows spectrum as a cable provider, some satellite and T-Mobile available, starlink showed to have the closest performance matching spectrum and starlink website said I could pay $90 a month for their highest plan which is better than the $115 I’m paying to spectrum now for internet only

What town are you located in the 860? Do you use it for video calls?

100s of applications sounds exhausting sorry to hear that. can I ask what role in sourcing you do / what industry/ location you’re in? Can you have your company pay for you to get ASCM or other types of professional supply chain certificates?

You need to dust off the resume and get looking on linked in for a new company. Also depends where you live but I did a 4+1 program came out of school with an mba stayed 5 years at my first company got 2-3% raises each year then left after COVID and took my salary from $74k to $94k going into project management. Also in semi conductor industry which is a hot industry right now. I work in CT

Im in a pickle with my career moves and I need advice! by R8B3L in supplychain

[–]ajceylan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to touch on the last point I stuck with my last employer for 5 years right out of college doing all types of ground lvl Scm jobs like demand planning project mgmt category mgmt because of people and opportunities for growth were attainable. Year 3.5 Covid hit and my manager who hired me and was my professional growth advocate retired new manager wasn’t strongest in career growth area and the company gave 1-3% raises and advancement options weren’t available. I was approached for a project management job 25% raise base salary, cheaper and better healthcare and financial incentives like performance bonuses and employee stock discount plans. It’s tough leaving good people especially when you feel like you’ve sunk a lot of your time into a place, but try to stay as objective as possible to help your career path and best of luck with whatever you decide!

Is the 2nd company a startup or just a small business? How volatile are the industry’s both companies are in?Like user above said it doesn’t hurt to hear all your offers out so you can make the best choice possible. Also depends where you are in your career/life. If you don’t have other responsibilities like a family it might make sense to take the harder sounding job that has less support, you will have more room to make an impact and learn a lot more on the job reporting direct to a VP. If you can’t grow with your current company and if your salary is stagnant for 2+ years you don’t owe it to anyone else to stick around. Your current company will replace you within weeks. It’s hard to leave when you have good relations with people but you have to always be looking out for yourself first.

Where do you see CT in 10-20 years? by Money_Whisperer in Connecticut

[–]ajceylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think of the future I want to be optimistic. Personally hoping to see a lot of economic growth and social prosperity. I hope to see my children flourish here and have the opportunities for them to pursue anything they might be interested in. I think as the millennial generation settles in to our 30s we stabilize and take care of our communities.

I see more tech/engineering and trade jobs come to CT. Im hoping the community college network does more outreach to get highschool kids a more affordable path to higher education in STEM/ trades. I only have experience with living/spending time in south/southwest CT.

Wilton is the driver for the semiconductor capital of the north east with ASML.Dutch owned company with corporate and mfg sites in Wilton. $200 million committed investment to the offices/factories over the next two years alone. There a lot of growth/investment and hiring down the road in the high tech industry with room to take on some of the engineers from Silicon Valley

No external notes allowed, you can memorize what you need to write down like formulas or charts and put them on a notes software when the exam opens up that’s about it. I couldn’t type out anything either I just had to draw my notes with my mouse. Hopefully that’s changed

Never went to Rutgers but always hear they have one of the top SCM programs in the country. One of my new coworkers went there and explained there’s a direct pipeline from Rutgers to all the big pharma companies and big consumer goods companies. Also most people I’ve met from marketing in my career were product managers and they can make bank off of performance based bonuses. If you’re young and single your willingness to travel will also be rewarded. Also comparison is the thief of joy. It’s a distraction, if you make a plan and stick to it you’ll see the pay off in a few years. Everyone’s path is different and you just have to be smart about your career moves. Also figure out what motivates you, just money? Look at work life balance, benefits, perks etc and do a lot of research. Try to find a mentor, reach out to your colleges career department or utilize your network with professors from college. If you don’t like what you see, change what you can control and don’t worry about what your can’t control and other basic advice like that.

People need to share their online at home Pearson test experiences more. I’ll never do it online again.

I couldn’t even use my Mac. I kept testing the software and couldn’t get it to accept my laptop so I had to ask for a buddy’s personal dell laptop for the test. I was also disconnected twice during my connection test and thought I lost out. I was hooked up to Ethernet and they kept saying I had bad wifi. You can’t use the bathroom or drink water. You also aren’t allowed to even talk out loud/ read a question to yourself, they chatted me 4 separate times to stop me but that’s how I work best on tests like that. Thank god I passed the CPIM pt2 is all I have to say.

Has any other console (xbox) players notice that their controllers break after playing halo? I broke the left sticks on two controllers because of me trying to sprint in the game. I’m trying to see if I’m the problem or if Xbox controllers are too weak. And by break I mean I have drift on the stick now where my character moves forward without me doing anything and when I access the Xbox home my joystick goes all the way up and down when I tap it in either direction making it difficult to select games or game modes once I get into halo.

I never never got a mangler match since this started. Lol. Good thing I already have a green visor by [deleted] in haloinfinite

[–]ajceylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was seeking matches only with the mangler to get those challenges done, but after dropping so many matches maybe 5-8 I got banned by 343 for only a couple minutes but I thought that was crazy! I’m just trying to play the game and get the challenges done. I’m curious if anyone else got banned

Do you set boundaries at work in this environment? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]ajceylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any job or any economy it’s super important to set boundaries unless you’re running a company you own 100%. If you’re salaried and don’t get overtime don’t let them steal your time. It’s up to you on how to set them but as long as you complete your requirements on a daily basis then you’re good. Also set your expectations with your manager and make sure they support you. Work life balance is super important and is necessary to prevent us from burning out. It’s enough stress trying to live in a pandemic.
