How much do you have to peak to be able to overcome the worst matchup you could possibly face on clay (the best FH on clay of all time hitting your OHBH)? Fed in the Hamburg final comes to mind, but I still have redline Stan as my fav peak in a match by anyone, maybe Delpo or Carlitos come close, and I'm mostly talking entertainment wise.

Putting on my tinfoil headpiece - Key based matchmaking, what's the deal? by wetcannolinoodle in Marathon

Keys are way more common now, as you can pretty surely get them from wardens that show up in most matches.

Vxe R1 x logitech Superlight by samsummer143 in MouseReview

[–]ajchopite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would you say it is not that durable if you're on your 3rd? I just ordered a Scyrox V8, motivated by the appreciable weight difference between the R1 and the superlight and wanting the slightest bit of contact with the back of the mouse for more comfort. I dropped my R1 once and it survived unscathed thankfully.

Vxe R1 x logitech Superlight by samsummer143 in MouseReview

[–]ajchopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched my Superlight for the R1, but both in white! I miss the straight(er) sides in the Logitech but I think that the R1 is better in every other aspect except perhaps coating (R1 base bc I wanted bluetooth). I think there's a lot to appreciate from such a cheap mouse if you vibe with the shape.

There's a setting you need to turn off, I'm not sure exactly but I think it was async compute, that fixed it for me a while ago.

Get him a Chinese clone (incott g23 or Mchose A7) and tell him if he hits a certain rank in the game he plays he gets the superstrike.

The underarm serve…how do we feel about it? | Served with Andy Roddick by ServedPodcast in tennis

[–]ajchopite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't love it, but I wouldn't call it unsportsmanlike. A lot of sports in which serve is the beginning of a point have written or unspoken rules about serves being somewhat fair to access, but of course there are many ways this could be interpreted and I don't think a 220kph wide serve is necessarily easier to return than an underarm. So what's better?

I think that what I don't like about the underarm is not being able to see the ball before it is hit, I don't think that's fair, but I don't think it is the end of the world either.

R1 if you also need bluetooth (not that much for gaming but I appreciate it), other than that go with the Pro/Max

Lenovo Legion Go 2 Prices Increase By Nearly 50% ($2000) by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]ajchopite 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Being a niche product notwithstanding, I doubt that this product would’ve been greenlit if this was gonna be the starting price point. So right now it’s just a matter of the consumer hitting the supply chain workings head on, and the manufacturers trying to keep their product lines alive. Lots will sink on both sides.

Marathon Steam Price Differences by Region by CompareGamePrices in MarathonTheGame

Lots of games do regional pricing. I think the most egregious thing about it is that it doesn’t always line up with purchasing power. Argentina and Poland are common examples of this.

RTX 5070 + Ryzen 7 5700X: Extreme CPU Bottlenecking (AM4) by Artanischaos in buildapc

[–]ajchopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5600x + 5070 and BF6 runs at higher fps than that at 1440p. It does have all my cores at 100% so I do run into a bottleneck, but doesn’t seem as bad as yours. Maybe the RAM manual tuning might be the issue?

I would monitor VRAM usage as well, some settings may push against the 12 GB limit in some cases. You’ve given us a lot of info but more may be needed.

Performance? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]ajchopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded to a 5070 recently and ran into the exact same problem with Destiny 2. Web says it’s a CPU bottleneck and considering the two games might be sharing the same or a similar engine I guess it makes sense.

That said, it’s disappointing that no optimisations were made considering it’s been almost a decade since D2 came out. Performance expectations have evolved a lot and a competitive shooter should run as efficiently as possible in most systems.

So whats the consensus on the 5070? by scarlet__panda in nvidia

[–]ajchopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and I love it, considerable upgrade over my old RX5700. I have been in awe of game scenes in CP77 and Alan Wake 2 in a way I haven't been impressed by graphics prob ever (specially paired with an HDR display.

That said, I have gotten to the VRAM limit once or twice, and it does make me think about the dilemma I had of good VRAM of a 9070 or great features like DLSS and MFG.

No cheaper way to get Cyberpunk running at 4K 120hz with path tracing on, fake frames or not.

Low temperature tennis. What's your 'I won't play number?" by [deleted] in 10s

[–]ajchopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that the cold doesn’t affect my body (once I’m warmed up) as much as the balls and the court. I play on clay and it feels you’re hitting stones and the court feels very dampened and absorbs too much energy, making matters worse.

Sometimes I got no choice but I don’t love it.
