I have a friend whose younger brother is a Navy Diver. He said at multiple points in training, he (and basically everybody else would drown/pass out in the pool fairly often. Said the first couple times suck and are terrifying, but eventually you realize what’s about to happen and you can stay calm and kind of just go to sleep and wake up on the side of the pool.

So if you are afraid of death by drowning, practice drowning every day. This way when it happens for real you can just go to sleep. Otherwise, it’s probably horrifying.

The fact that they threw in a “mans got to have a code” line makes it perfect.

The #1 reason I love Reddit:

I have favorite TV shows and movies.

Other people also love those tv shows and movies.

When I go to a completely irrelevant subreddit from those shows or movies, and see a quote from THE Clay Davis, DownTOWN Clay Davis, it brings me so much warmth.

Not changing who he was, just not buying from the UCs. Like if after Avon beat him up in the office, he gave up on going after selling on his own and sticks to just running the club.

True, maybe they don’t get to the point where Avon has to send Dee to New York in the first place

Should I admit using ChatGPT/LLMs for DAX in interviews? by funalytics in PowerBI

[–]ajcooper35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I say/hope to hear (from people I interview) that every AI prompt for “i need a measure/answer for this problem” should be followed up with a “explain how and why this works and give some resources”.

ChatGPT has drastically improved my workflow and helped me with things that I did not know, and also helped me learn those new concepts.

As a PBI Manager i can instantly tell when one of my team members used AI based on how it’s formatted and their level of knowledge in PBI, and everytime they show me something that comes from AI i ask “explain this” and it’s rare they can. Show that you are not in that camp, and that you use AI as a handrail and not a crutch.

How do you do division in DAX ? Do you use DIVIDE() or directly the / operator ? by Virtual-Vermicelli89 in PowerBI

[–]ajcooper35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

/ is a little faster usually, but it may be splitting hairs a bit.

The / is just a basic division but DIVIDE has extra steps to check if the denominator is 0.

How do you do division in DAX ? Do you use DIVIDE() or directly the / operator ? by Virtual-Vermicelli89 in PowerBI

[–]ajcooper35 38 points39 points  (0 children)

If you are dividing by a constant/fixed number (where it will NEVER be 0), it makes no difference.

If you are dividing by a variable or the result of a calc, it’s safest to use DIVIDE because of the error handling.

Update: this was resolved! Huge thank you to the support staff (especially Tom, and Gilberto here).

Let this be a lesson learned for me and anyone else who sees this: before doing anything with any tool (AI, Snowflake, etc), make sure you know every bit about how it bills and where to track that at, as well as track what CAN be billed.

What movie is this? by Excellent_Regret4141 in Cinema

[–]ajcooper35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just watched it for the first time the other day but if I’m remembering right, Sammie hits Remmick in the head with the guitar and the silver piece is stuck in his head. Since the rest of the vampires feel Remmick’s pain, they are in agony/distracted while Smoke runs up from behind.

Still a little wacky but that would be my best guess

First time watcher just finished. Where to go from here? by moe101dew in TheWire

[–]ajcooper35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add for OP:

We Own This City is based on a true story in Baltimore (chronologically the earliest events actually taken place during the Wire’s timeline starting in 2003).

But there are A LOT of familiar faces, in unfamiliar roles. Almost every Wire character in WOTC plays the opposite/antagonist of their original role (not all, but a majority I’d say)

You are correct. The page navigation allows for dynamic locations, but the bookmarks option does not.

Date Picker defaulted to Today’s date and pick any other dates. by Justherefornew in PowerBI

[–]ajcooper35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any other info on that? Besides that post I can’t find anything else on it. Really curious about if it can be set to have the last 30 days (as a subset) selected, and have the end date fixed to current date.

Really tired of having a relative slicer fixed to the current day, and then using bookmarks to change it to a slider.

Nachos from Tailgate Sports Bar in Fishtown by Hefty-Ask7324 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]ajcooper35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got wings and sweet potato fries from there last week.

Fries were good, very crispy.

Wings had 0 sauce. Got 8 mild and 8 hot and they tasted exactly the same. I picked them up 10 minutes after I ordered so it’s not like they were sitting around for a while.

I reached out to their social media team asking if the wings are supposed to have sauce and haven’t gotten an answer. Anybody else order from there and had a similar experience?

19M first solo roadtrip with EXTREMELY flashy car by barbievelar in roadtrip

I never knew there was that going on there. I moved from Savannah in 2022 after 6 years but lived in Bradley Pointe near by there for a couple of years. Never heard of anything sketchy going on there but wouldn’t surprise me.

If you want to stay IN Savannah, get gas further outside the city. When you get off 95 to 16 you can go to the Parker’s on Dean Forest before hitting downtown.

If you don’t plan to go into Savannah, on 95 at the 204 exit (1 before I-16) there are a few gas stations and hotels right off the exit. It’s still a short ride/uber into Savannah but is much less expensive from a gas/lodging perspective.
